Handmade in the Hunter Markets - where you will discover the variety and quality of goods grown, made and crafted by Hunter Valley artisans. As the longest running and most popular, meet-the-maker market in the vineyards, you will meet and talk with the grower, maker or artist behind each of the expertly crafted and truly unique “Handmade in the Hunter” creations. We take great pride in the fact that when you buy something from us you are taking a little bit of the Hunter home with you. Conveniently located near the three major concert venues (Hope Estate, Bimbadgen and Roche Estate), wineries, restaurants and Hunter Valley Gardens, Handmade in the Hunter Markets are also held to coincide with concert dates and other major vineyard events. Come along to see, taste, try, buy and marvel for yourself at what the vibrant Hunter Valley artistic and creative community has to offer. See our website for a complete list of market dates or our facebook page for cancellations due to adverse weather.
Handmade in the Hunter Markets is a true gem of the Hunter Valley. I visit the markets on a regular basis and there is always something different. With just a quick look around you can tell that the items are genuinely handmade - they are indeed unique and nothing short of "artworks". The best part is you can talk to the very artist who created them. My dogs absolutely loved the handmade dog treats. I am also in the fortunate position to be a local tour guide so I can speak not only as a customer myself but as someone who has witnessed the reaction of many people. I choose to include Handmade in the Hunter Markets as a feature item on my tours when we visit Kevin Sobel's wines. As we drive past I often get people asking "Are we going to visit those markets sometime today? They look fascinating." and I always get delighted replies when I confirm that yes the markets are on our itinerary. After our visit the bus often drives around full of interesting chilli plants, sauces, jewellery, candles, hand creams ... you name it! I often have delighted passengers tell me about how they found the perfect gift for the person who has everything or is hard to buy for. I have very strict standards for the venues we visit on our tours and unless my guests receive 5 star service and love the venue we don't go back. The satisfaction of my guests reflects on my tour as well. Handmade in the Hunter Markets is a tour highlight and will be on our tour well into the future as our passengers are delighted with the unique items and the friendly country hospitality shown by the stall holders. Even if you are not on a tour, a visit to this market is well worth your time.

It's a smallish market that showcases different stalls every weekend on rotation. Something for everyone, with live music and wine tasting in the cellar door, De Bortoli Wines has a sealed car park with disabled parking and toilets. Shopping consists of Fashion, Homewears, Accessories, Children's products, Food, Health and Beauty. Most of the products are 100% handmade weather they are locally made or not they are still hand crafted generally by the person behind the stall who is happy to help you. I always find this market to be very friendly with a great relaxed atmosphere

Founded in 2008 The Olive Tree Market is Newcastle’s Leading Contemporary Art & Design Market featuring over 130 stalls each month. The Olive Tree Market was launched to provide Newcastle’s contemporary artists and designers with an arena to showcase their work at supportive, vibrant, culturally diverse event. Our ethos is all about community, and supporting creators of handmade, maker and ethically created goods. The Olive Tree Market is a major community event, and has grown a strong reputation as being one of Newcastle’s most unique and unmissable offerings. Olive Tree provides visitors to the market with the unique opportunity to meet local artisans, view high quality goods, and collect, source, and commission one-off works. We are proud that our customer base has grown with us over the last decade, and are passionate about supporting and buying local, and being informed, conscious consumers. The Olive Tree Market is more than a market, it’s a meeting place, a vibrant space
Our family and friends all love this market. The atmosphere is family friendly, great Australian made and designed stalls, high quality products with a variety of price points so there’s something for everyone. Fantastic selection of food stalls and the local musicians. Highly recommend!
