I'm at this trendy cinema a few times every month. It screens interesting, sometimes controversial, relevant and sometimes just fun films and riveting documentaries. Expect something different... the seats are car seats (some with headrests), very comfortable. Tip: third row from front is best. You can order food & if it's not ready before the show they'll bring it in for you. Think pizzas, popcorn, snacks. Don't miss Noodlebox Cinema where you pre-order your noodles (really good!) and watch an Asian film. This is my go to theatre, albeit a small intimate one, for classic movies, the Oscar nominated shorts /animation or old black & white movies with a Fb accompanying pianist - brilliant - and its set in the vibey Maboneng district in downtown Joburg.

What an amazing experience we had. We went to watch Star Wars: The Last Skywalker at the VIP cinema at the Waterfront in December. Before we went in, we ordered 3 Long Island Ice Teas that should be brought to us every hour. The manageress, Naso Mluma, personally took it on, and our drinks were brought into the cinema on time, and were delicious (so delicious we couldn't remember the end of the movie and had to watch it again!). Would highly recommend as an experience. And at a ticket price not much higher than the normal entry (R150), you sit in very comfortable reclining seats and get drinks served to you, it is well worth it. Thank you Nu Metro.
