I have sent many of my tourists and guests on tours with Peter Giddy and they have always come back with glowing reports of the wonderful time they had. I was privileged to take my grandson on a hike up the Lady Slipper Mountain just outside Port Elizabeth. Peter was a great host and made the walk so interesting by pointing out different plants along the way and telling us stories about the area. He has many other walking/hiking tours and I would recommend that you do as many of these with Peter as you can I would recommend any tour with Peter.

Get to see all the big five animals in their natural habitat. Because the area is so big, there is no guarantees for seeing all the animals. This is however also what makes it a real WILD experience.

I have just returned from my first hunting safari ever in South Africa with Pete Safaris. I looked at a lot of travel agencies when planning this trip. Somehow, when I got to Pete Safaris, it just felt right from the beginning. Great service from the agency and at the lodge Ufumene, affordable prices, excellent accommodations —all in all, very professional. I got the experience of a lifetime. I can’t stop smiling. Thankfully, I have hundreds of videos and photos, so I can still remember this trips many years from now when I get old. It was an experience of a lifetime! I can highly recommend it.

We saw so many elephants and other animals up close on our full day tour. Walter is an experienced guide, well-connected to others in the park, and willing to go the bit extra. It is a wonderful day and so much better than a cruise ship bus tour to the same park. It was raining and we stayed dry. This should be a 5 star review, but he promised what he did not deliver.I specifically asked Walter for the seat up front with him since we booked before the other couple an I tend to get queasy in a crowded car or bus. So we paid the premium. He gave me his word twice, as late as that morning. Instead, he yielded to the big guy who got there first and I ended up in the middle in the back, UGH. He made some excuse as soon as we arrived because he knew he was not keeping his word.He said he would make us change places half way through but that happen either. I do admit the guy was big, arrogant an intimidating. Otherwise, and in retrospect, I could have asked him myself instead of assuming that was up to Walter. I spent hours being pushed between two people moving around taking pictures. I would still recommend Walter. He is truly a good, professional 5 star guide. Just get there before the other guys!

Addo Elephant National Park is the third biggest reserve in South Africa at well over 200000 hectares. The animals are in an entirely wild habitat and the Addo Elephants are renowned for being 'Gentle Giants'. They are usually quite calm, allowing for great close-up viewing and excellent photo opportunities. It is the only 'Big 7' Reserve in the World. The Park has incorporated a Marine Protected Area where, on a Marine Safari, you could see the Southern Right Whale (seasonal) & Great White Shark as well as the African Penguin and Bottlenose Dolphins. Combine this with the 'Big 5', Elephant, Lion, Buffalo,Rhino and Leopard at the main park and it is now known as a 'Big 7' Reserve. The Park also boasts 5 of the 7 biomes in South Africa.
Inclusions: Snacks with refreshments, Bottled water, Binoculars, All Fees and Taxes, Hand sanitizer

Debbie took me out me out on two separate Game Drives over two days, one to Addo Elephant Park and the other to a Big 5 Game reserve. Debbie usually runs tours from Port Elizabeth but just picked me up from Addo town. I had a lovely couple of days seeing all sorts of game and even white Rhino. The scenery was stunning in both locations and even getting there with delightful country drives I won't mention where where we saw the white Rhino as they are utterly endangered. I have done a three week extensive safari before and this time I just wanted to to have a couple of days in a private vehicle with a local guide, no stress and just comfort. Excellent Choice!!! Debbie was a delight to have as a guide, not only cause of her knowledge of the Game, the comfortable vehicle, but it was so easy to converse with Debbie also on other subjects and I learned a lot about South Africa. Overall a 5 star experience, I can highly recommend Addo Secret Safaris.

Today this finely-tuned ecosystem is home to one of the densest elephant populations on earth, with over 600 elephant, lion, buffalo, the endangered black rhino, spotted hyena, leopard, a variety of antelope and zebra species, as well as the unique Addo flightless dung beetle, found almost exclusively in Addo. Four friends and I did the 4 day tour, from Addo to Karoo and it was great! We did 3 different parks and saw plenty of animals and were given a lot of information about the animals, like how warthogs eat. It was nice that it wasn't just about counting how many animals you see, but actually learning about them too. Our guide Lonwabo was an absolute pleasure and I would highly recommend this experience.

This was the most spectacular experience ever. If you’re looking to not only learn about the many animals and plants that occupy Addo National Park but also the city of PE during your drive from your pick up point to the Park then Andrew, our tour guide is your guy. Andrew was very kind to me and my mother and very accommodating. He gave in depth knowledge on the plants and animals as we passed by. The food is limited to pastas and burgers, I had a beef burger and it was the most succulent. He ensured we spot all the lovely animals then dropped us at our hotel safely. Would absolutely recommend this drive.

I had a remarkable time and experience during this adventurous tour together with my friends. Not only was it fun but also educating and i fully enjoyed my time with the incredible services that were offered by the team. Special thanks to Dexter who remained flexible and put so much effort for our tour to be a success! I would definitely recommend all globe trotters to use African Sunsets Travel. Thank you.
