Bill gave us a great tour of the ship with lots of great information and stories. The grown ups enjoyed it throughly. It was a lot of walking for our 4 kids and a little warm for them but they did good and enjoyed seeing different parts of the ship and ringing the ships loud bell. It was a great place to visit Father's Day weekend.

My wife and I stopped by after shopping at the Christmas place, (my reward for going shopping with her). I was not sure what to expect. I have been to a few small memorials and museums and was very impressed with this facility. The location is easily accessible and provides ample parking. We went on a Saturday morning around 10AM. There wasn't many people visiting so spacing was not an issue. The museum was well designed and the attendant (Mike I believe) was very helpful and knowledgeable. The displays were clean and bright. The information was detailed but not overwhelming. I found it interesting that they focused on individuals not events. There were a few videos playing and plenty of tools, uniforms and weapons to see. We spent about 2 hours which was about all my wife could take, lol. That was pleasant of time to take it all in. I could have spent another 2 hours but you can easily spend less time and still feel like you seen everything. I would consider this a must-see in Frankenmuth especially if you injoy military history or would like to show your gratitude to those who have fallen in defence of our nation.

A little gem in Saginaw. The exhibits covered the history of the area well in a cool looking building. I enjoyed learning about the lumber and auto industry in Saginaw. It was also good to see they were transparent about the Treaty of Saginaw and how the US gov basically reneged on paying the Chippewas their money for what is now 1/3 of the lower peninsula.

Mid-Michigan Children's Museum

The museum is a place to explore, learn new things, and have fun! Did you know that play is vital to children’s social and emotional growth? Plus, it contributes to fine and gross motor development and body awareness. As PBS’s Mr. Rogers put it, “Play is really the work of childhood.” Every day, we work hard to provide a hands-on, “Play and Learn” environment that engages and motivates children to use their curiosity and creativity to learn about the wonders of our world. We rely on talented staff, dedicated volunteers and generous community support to make our mission a reality. Let’s learn about the museum! • Big and bold: Our bright and friendly building – formerly a car dealership! – has over 16,000 square feet of gallery space. In addition, we have classrooms that we use for field trips, meetings, and birthday parties; a gift shop focused on creativity and learning; and administrative offices. • Designed just for kids: We have 10 galleries designed specifically for guests age 10 and under. Each gallery was developed around Michigan school curriculum with input from children’s museum specialists, educators, and KIDS! • Play for all: From our adaptive play web tool Museum4Me to day camp scholarships to busing assistance, we want to minimize barriers to play. Do you have an idea of how to improve museum access? We are always learning and we would be happy to hear from you! We are privileged to serve a diverse community and we are excited for what the future will bring! Because, unlike traditional museums, the Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum is all about the future – future artists, future scientists, future engineers … future community members!

We didn't expect much when we saw how small the Museum was (the Museum store is also in the space) but were pleasantly surprised by how much was packed into such a small place. There weren't any other visitors so we could walk around the exhibits at our own pace and learn about the history of Frankenmuth. Highly recommend a visit.

The tea house was closed the day we visited as they were cleaning up from an event that was held over the weekend. One of the docents was kind enough to give us a brief history of the tea house and its construction. Would definitely stop back if in the area. Generally, daily tours available (call to make sure). Can have tea and dessert in the tea house. Monthly they hold a formal tea service (check schedule)

The museum was delightful. It’s small, but the collections is well selected and interesting. The museum is also in an old mansion. The Charles Addams exhibit was an excellent surprise!
