Lots of shops, restaurants, and bars. Plan to spend a morning or afternoon taking everything in. Very walkable.

Mission Point Lighthouse has been a Traverse City and Old Mission Peninsula icon for decades. Located at the north end of a picturesque drive along M-37 through cherry orchards and vineyards, Mission Point Lighthouse stands as a classic piece of Michigan history. While it no longer guides mariners through West Grand Traverse Bay as it did from September 10, 1870 until it was decommissioned in 1933, Mission Point Lighthouse now offers visitors a peek into what life was like around the turn of the century for lighthouse keepers and for others who lived and worked in the area at the time. Self-guided tours of the lighthouse museum for daily visitors in May-October, and weekends in November.
When visiting Traverse City, don’t miss making the short drive (15-20 minutes) up the Old Mission Peninsula to visit the Mission Point Lighthouse. Not only is the drive up and down the peninsula beautiful in its own right, but also seeing the views of Grand Traverse Bay and visiting the Mission Point Lighthouse and learning of its history make it well worth the trip. NOTE: As an added bonus, stand on the 45th parallel with the lighthouse in the background and have your picture taken next to the sign proclaiming that you are exactly half way between the Equator and the North Pole!

Where can I begin? Perhaps with the friendly and attentive owner & her staff? I was greeted warmly and offered a cup of their cherry coffee (yum!). While given plenty of freedom to stroll the shop and browse the many selections, any questions I had, were quickly and fully answered. While making my choices, I was offered samples to help me decide which to buy. Upon checking out, I learned that they donate a % of sales to fight breast cancer and that the owner serves on local nonprofit boards. (That's my kind of company!) My items were beautifully packaged with tissue paper and bows, making my gifts look even more special.

One of those great roadside attractions of days gone by. My husband and I love this kind of thing and if you do too, this is a must see.
The Ghost Farm of Kingsley is the premiere haunted house attraction in Northern Michigan. From our Fright Nights in early summer to our full haunted attraction each fall, do stop in Dear Guest to visit the Farmer for a fun filled time visiting the Ghost Farm. This haunted attraction-depending on the event-is 1 to 3 different haunts including the Cursed Barn, Haunted Trail, and Gravely Greenhouse
