This is the family's own favourite trip. Here you can enjoy a break by the water, go swimming, rent a kanoo or visit the Lauvsjo farm. This trip is suitable for everyone that can handle their own bike. You can park your car by the Lake Lauvsjoen (there is parking along the Golsfjellveien). The easiest way to Lauvsjoen is to follow the sign to Golsfjellet Vest from the town center. From the parking you go a couple of meters in the direction of the city center (to the right), then you follow the carriage-path towards the lakes of Vesletjernet/Lauvsjoen. After about one kilometer you get to the lakes where there is a smaller road going to the swimming and the rest stop. The road will continue to the only hill, about 300 meters long. Halfway up the hill you can go fishing or rent a kanoo at the mountainfarm Lauvsjostolen. This mountainfarm is also open for visits every Wednesday and Thursday from July 1st until August 13th. Start the bike trip at Gol railroad station and follow the signs towards Nesbyen. The first part of the trip runs along easy gravel roads towards Svenkerud. Follow the bicycle signs over the bridge and on to Gamleveien to Nesbyen. Keep going in this direction for about 3 km. Then follow the signs marked Nesbyen rundt over Tyribakken bridge. From Tyribakken bridge the trip goes up towards Garnos. Half way up the hills you can make a right and visit Garnos meteorite crater. The inclines continue all the way up Garnos and on into Fladalen. From Fladalen the route continues into Ridalen. The scenery in these valleys is almost fairy-tale like, with narrow roads, marshes, small rivers and eventually a fantastic view towards Skarveheimen. From Ridalen you go downhill towards Gol. The last 8 kilometres run along the railway track in relatively flat terrain. The route is long, vith some steep inclines, so it requires some fitness and is not suitable for small children.

6. Round trip of Einarset

Sentrumsvegen 93, Gol 3550 Norway

A nice family trip on good gravel roads, but some of the road is paths that are easy with the bike. A natural startingpoint for this round trip is Storefjell Resort Hotel. Follow the road past the hotell and up to the lavvu. Here you will find a simple path and road to Kamben Hotel, along the Postvegen (road) to Storefjellvegen and Skutusetkrysset. Follow the road through Skutuset, continue on the path/carriage road to Vermeli and Tunnetjern Stolslag. Then follow the road to Turkoppmyre and continue on the bike road to Einarset. Then continue back to Storefjell. Difficulty: Easy/Medium Suitable for bike trolley: No Kiosk/service: Storefjell, Kamben Lowest/highest point: 847/1027 m. Total rise: 230 m. Have a nice trip!

Sentrumsvegen 93, Gol 3550 Norway

Rotneim/Vermefoss - Gol station Ride through the town centre and follow the footpath to Rv 7. Stay on the footpath along Rv 7 until it ends at Rotneim. Go app. 150 metres further along the highway, turn left and cross the Hallingdal river on the Vermefoss bridge. Follow the gravel road under the the railway bridge and get on the first road to the left. Make another left after app. 750 m and follow this road until you get to Gol station and onwards back to the town centre. Note: From the highest point between the Moen bridge and Gol Station there are challenging downhill paths.

8. Round Trip of the Blomeslettene

Sentrumsvegen 93, Gol 3550 Norway

This is the trip for you who wants to go biking on medium challenging path, and fun tractor roads. About half the trip are paths and carriage roads in the area between Golsfjellet and Hemsedal. Here there are both technical challenges and fast downhills. Since this is a round you can offcourse start wherever you want along the route. We recomend you to start by Bleiktvedt (1 km North from Golsfjell FJellstue along the Golsfjell road). Bike through the cabin-areas and follow the new bike road pass Blekketjern and further on to Noreli. Enjoy the view over Storevatnet to Skogshorn and further towards the mountain area Jotunheimen. From Noreli you follow a path past Norelihogdi , Elghogdi and Svarahovda to BLomesletten. Follow the gravel path to Palsvollen (mountain cabin) and carriage road further on towards Heggerusti. Here you have to cross a private area of a mountain cabin, so therefore show consideration and take it easy. By the mountain cabin you go down between the first house and the second house. After a little bit you will get to the road towards Skroyvestolane and from there you continue to Lauvsetstolen (mountain farm). By Lauvset you follow the main road to the left and continue past Lauvsjoen (lake) and back to the starting point at Bleiktvedt. This is a fun trip for everyone who wants a bit more challenge than a regular gravel road. Have a nice trip!

9. Round Trip Gol 1

Moen bridge - Gol station Ride through the town centre and follow the footpath towards highway Rv 7. Cross Rv 7, then cross Moen bridge to get to the other side of the Hallingdal river. Go left after the underpass and follow the road towards Gol railway station. A long, but not very steep, climb will take you to a scenic point with benches. The hills down to Gol Motor og Fritidssenter can be challenging, so it is best to take it slow. Follow the road from Gol Motor og Fritidsenter towards the station. Cross the river on the bridge on the left and follow Sentrumsvegen back to the town centre.

10. The Waffle Tour 3

Sentrumsvegen 93, Gol 3550 Norway

This route starts off at the Oset Hoyfjellshotell. Continue towards the Tislei dam, cross it, and follow the road up to the crossroads at Buastolen. Keep going straight past the different summer farmsuntil you get to Gomobu, which is the first obligatory waffle stop on the route. From Gomobu the road is steep downhill until you get on to the Panoramavegen (Panorama road) between Hemsedal and Valdres. On the Panoramavegen you can choose if you want the shorter route by turning left and going straight to Nosen, where they make great waffles too, or if you want to go right and follow the signs to Trollhovd. From Trollhovd the route is downhill past Gronsennknibben og Svenskefjorden. Go straight ahead (do not cross the bridge on the right!) and follow the road along the lake and back to Panoramavegen. Go right and stay on the main road past the Flyvass dam and further along the Tisleifjorden. Go on past Langestolen (shop) and back to Buasttolen. Go left, ride back to Oset.
