While Atlanta is the anchor and capital of Georgia, you can aim in any direction to find distinctly different regions – from the tail of the Appalachians in the North to the rolling Piedmont hills and on down to the seaside marshes in the East. Atlanta lays claim to the state’s number one attraction – Stone Mountain State Park. They say it best - “Serious fun. Endless adventure.” Just 15 minutes from downtown, the world’s largest exposed granite dome is surrounded by 3,200 acres of natural beauty and stimulating activities for every member of the family – sky rides and hiking paths, laser shows and pedal boats along Stone Mountain Lake. Golfers tee it up, while red foxes dash across the fairways in a state where the Masters Golf Tournament creates revered green-jacket memories every year. It’s a long downhill ride down to historic Savannah, a ‘stone’s throw’ from the Atlantic and a virtual step back in time to Southern architecture and stately squares. St. Simon’s and Jekyll Islands offer barrier island beauty and a wonderful combination of outdoor activities, historic sites and artistic culture. Originally the private winter playground of wealthy northeasterners, Jekyll Island stretches along 10 miles of coastal beaches and inland marshes. Cycling and walking paths wind under moss-laden oaks, and a tour of Millionaire Village takes you back to those Cornelius Vanderbilt and J.P. Morgan days. The kid-friendly Summer Waves Water Park adds man-made fun to natural water sport activities. Coastal golf courses and sophisticated St. Simon’s Island appeal to moms, dads and vacationing couples.

White Oak Pastures is a multigenerational family farm that cooperates with nature to produce artisan products that are healthy, safe, nutritious and delicious. Care is given to ensure that all of our production practices are economically practical, ecologically sustainable, and that our animals are always humanely treated. We offer educational tours, lodging and an on-farm restaurant.
We spent Independence Day in the Sam Fordham Cabin, and it was the perfect vacation for us. The quietness and comfort of the cabin gave us the chance to relax and cook breakfast together. We brought our own bacon, but the fridge was stocked with really good eggs from the farm. The lunches and suppers at the Farmers Table and the Dining Pavilion were very nice. We especially enjoyed the barbecued chicken at the Pavilion. We are farmers and were interested to see one of the finest farms in the country. It inspired us and surpassed all of our expectations. It is amazing, efficient, and beautiful all at the same time. The friendliness and attentiveness of the people of Bluffton and White Oak Pastures made our stay a joy. It’s been over a month since we were there, and we are still talking about the tour that Ms. Jodi Harris Benoit gave us and about the warm and wonderful chat that we had with Mr. Will Harris after lunch in the Pavilion. Thank you, White Oak Pastures. We hope to come back again soon.

We were staying at a nearby cabin when the kids noticed this rescue when we drove by and begged us to take them. Honestly, we weren’t expecting much but then we read the positive reviews which piqued our curiosity. Every positive review is absolutely accurate!! We had a gloriously wonderful time and the kids (ages 13&11 and animal lovers)didn’t want to leave. The owner, Ms Susanne, is such a lovely, kind person and everyone that works there is just as nice. Wish we could come visit and volunteer here everyday!! If we are ever back to this area, we will definitely come back and visit this sanctuary!!

Melissa & her son gave a great tour. Really informative. I asked dozens of questions! Very interesting. They both went into detail of explaining everything to me. Couldn't miss the place with Google map. The directions took us straight there There was an alpaca cutout by the mailbox! Sometimes code or neighbors keeps signage from being available. It is a small venue so it is a must to set up an appointment for tour! Melissa has also a store using her alpaca fleece. I had messed up the date for the visit! Went one day early. My fault 100%. They were so very courteous & accomodating. They were willing to ask the other people's tour if we could join them. We just told them we would come back on the RIGHT day & time. LOL Great people!

So you have two choices you can walk up and interact with the alpacas. You can buy a bag of food for a dollar and they will come up to the fence. The second option you can pay $12 you get to go into the farm. The price includes food and you can go inside the fence to feed, pet and hug the alpacas.
