Bidvest Wanderers Stadium

The home of cricket in Johannesburg and also the venue where the great 438 match was played between South Africa and Australia. The Bidvest Wanderers Stadium is an International cricket stadium with world class facilities.

Had a great time here watching England defeat South Africa in the test match. A beautiful setting for cricket and very relaxed. Had seats in the shade though it was possible to sit in the sun on the grass bank. There was plenty of food choice catering for all tastes. Our coach was able to park reasonably close to the ground which helped with some of our group who had mobility problems.

Loftus Versfeld Stadium

This great rugby stadium (sometimes used for night time soccer matches or the occasional music show) is the home of the Bulls rugby team. It really is worth going there to watch games. The atmosphere is great and you will laugh out loud at least ten times for comments made and sayings shouted by individual members in the spectator crowd. You don't get this when watching games on TV. Oh, I almost forgot - there are tons of hot chicks of all ages that go to games. You can hug them when your team scores without getting into trouble. Within limits, of course.

This is a magnificent stadium and the perfect place for a concert. We saw GNR here on the 29 Nov 18. We were super impressed with the layout of the stadium and the facilities.

Ellis Park Stadium

When in Johannesburg I wanted to go to a rugby game at Ellis Park and got the opportunity a few years ago. Went to a Force vs Lions Super Rugby game and was not disappointed. I had heard the All Black games vs South Africa called on the radio when I was younger and wanted to visit this historical place. We met the park Manager who picked the NZ accent straight away and we visited the store afterwards and brought the souvenirs to take home. Well worth it, and would do it again.
