We arrived late in the day and the center was closed. But, we were able to take the very enjoyable trail to the beach. It passes numerous cool interdunal ponds thru the woods, before arriving at a bunch of beach dunes, and finally the shore of Lake Michigan. The trail is packed dirt, then loose sand towards the end. But, it is pretty flat, so not very tough. We got very close to some ducks and herons on one of the last lakes we skirted. It is neat to hear the surf from afar, and finally crest a dune and see it.

My daughter had her wedding at the most scenic spot overlooking Lake Michigan in the Chicago Metro area. The outdoor spaces were perfect for the September wedding. There is indoor area the view the beach for winter events. You can use any caterer and have liquor there as well. It is a gem that should be experienced by anyone who loves the beach and Lake Michigan.

It’s basically what most people mentioned it’s just his house in a neighborhood. It’s very nostalgic to think of that is where Michael Jackson and his siblings grew up. The whole town however is run down unfortunately. There really isn’t anything to else to see. If you are a fan I suggest passing by and checking it out. There is a memorial on the inside of the gate and boards on the fence for fans to leave messages. I couldn’t do this because it was raining but just being there felt very cool!
