For visitors, the best thing about Galway is that you can walk everywhere. As soon as you arrive, enjoy a walk through the city streets. There, you'll find lively pubs, independent shops and winding cobblestone streets packed with students, artists, writers and craftspeople. You may even hear Gaelic spoken. For a day trip, take a ferry to the island of Inis Mor. You'll return refreshed by the ocean air and Inis Mor's breathtaking scenery. Oh, and be sure to wear sunscreen on the island, no matter how chilly it is. (Just trust us, okay?)

In the heart of Galway's Latin Quarter, the best up-and-coming acts from Ireland and beyond, every Thursday. Doors 9pm, Show 9:30pm Free Pizza included. Online booking available through EventBrite (See Facebook page!).
My boyfriend and I visited this comedy club and it really was tiny! I would recommend coming early enough to make sure you have a comfy seat, as it really is small! The place was full and the atmosphere was great. The free pizza was from supermacs along with sausages and wedges (my boyfriend and I are vegan and were delighted to see wedges!) The host was absolutely hilarious, along with all the acts. Great value!

Best pub in Woodquay, one of the best in Galway City. Mesmerizing atmosphere, with an eclectic mix of guests, a unique blend of locals and international visitors. Superfriendly bar staff who will make you feel welcome and have you enjoying the "craic" Ireland is so famous for! One of my firm favourites for years now, both on a personal level and as a tourguide. I won't bring my guests anywhere else now when in the city centre.

Roisin Dubh has long been the home of comedy in Galway. Over the last few years regular comedy goers will have seen the likes of Jack Whitehall, Sarah Millican, Kevin Bridges, Gina Yashere, Stewart Lee, Kerry Godliman, Reginald D Hunter, Phill Jupitus, Zoe Lyons, Rich Hall, Doug Stanhope & Jim Jefferies, to name a few. We curate Ireland’s biggest comedy festival, the Vodafone Comedy Carnival, every October featuring such greats as Tommy Tiernan, John Bishop, Sean Lock, Tim Minchin, Bill Bailey & Dylan Moran. Keep up to date on all things VCCG @galwaycomedy on Facebook and Twitter, and @vodafonecomedycarnival on Instagram. And for a weekly dose of laughs, you can pop in to the Tuesday Comedy KARLnival, to see the best in established & emerging comedic talent from Ireland and abroad, hosted by the “achingly funny” Karl Spain. Visit www.roisindubh.net to see future event listings & tickets. You can follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter @roisindubhcomedy.
If you're in Galway and want some craic, check out the comedy at Roisin Dubh. As a regular attendee of comedy, I highly recommend The Roisin Dubh Comedy. Tuesday night's have a great mixed bill of talent, and for an extremely reasonable price. They also have some fantastic weekend solo shows most months as well. With the best of Irish and international comedians taking to the stage. Check it out, you won't be disappointed

E Brun is a traditional Irish bar, it is a listed building that shows all sports events. We serve toasted sandwiches all day and give them away on Sunday nights with the Live Music. This Live Music is on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday with some of Galway's favorite local bands! e Brún is probably the smallest pub in Galway City but makes up for this with bag loads of character.
The character and atmosphere in this pub is amazing! So welcoming! The staff are Great! Enthusiastic, quick and great craic! And by far the best pint of Guinness in Galway! They have something for everyone in this pub! They have art on the walls from authentic Irish artists. Definitely a place to go visit

Award-winning and authentic Irish bar with a long history, dating back to the early 19th Century. This is the hidden gem in Galway's lively pub scene. Go discover!
Fabulous Irish pub and late bar in the city centre of beautiful Galway. Great craic, live music, DJs and cocktails on offer. Friendly staff and creamy pints of Guinness with a tasty whiskey selection to chase. Highly recommended and looking forward to visiting again soon.

Absolutely love Taaffes, was here for a bite to eat and a few drinks and was very impressed. We were well looked after by our server Danielle, she was so friendly and on the ball the whole time, really made us feel welcome! We understand that working in these conditions are not easy, she really impressed us with her top class service. Food was amazing and of course so were the pints. Cannot fault this place, we will definitely be back again.
