Fun, Food & Learn Traditional Sri Lanka food is very enjoyable and world famous, but cooking it yourself adds yet another dimension to the experience. We do cooking classes in Galle at a house located in quiet residential areas just outside the city. Each day of the week there are different menus on training, reflecting the cultural and culinary traditions of Sri Lanka,
I’ve done many cooking classes around the world and this one is possibly the best-ever. Mahdu is a gracious, knowledgeable and eloquent host and really makes sure you participate and learn (and most importantly enjoy the fruits of your labour!) We were impressed that transport was included as was a trip to the vegetable market and fish market (as well as thoughtful extras like tea/coffee, iced water and a surprise dessert). The class takes place in a fit-for-purpose annexe to Madhu’s home and so also provides a window into Sri Lankan home life. The dishes we made were numerous and so delicious (hot tip - skimp on your breakfast so you have more room for the 10+ dishes you will cook!) You won’t regret this experience!

We are headquartered on the south coast of Sri Lanka near Galle, beside the belt of hills that have been known for centuries to successfully grow “True Cinnamon”. The Ceylon Cinnamon Corporation was born out of a passion for Sri Lanka’s unique crop, its underrated health benefits and the opportunity to develop a successful co-operative.

Experience our professional spa service at Prince of Galle. Manicure, pedicures, facials, waxing, massage and more
A spa visit is all about the connection between therapist and client. And this was the best experience I have had in Sri Lanka so far. The local therapist is beautiful with attention to detail. I had a back massage which was amazing. She had an amazing touch and calming energy. The massage included the head which was also incredible. I had my eyebrows done and she again did an exceptional job. Better than I have had in London. And the manicure with OPI colours was excellent. Good therapists the world over are hard to find, but this woman definitely is a great one. I will be back.

traditional rice and curry cooking classes last around two hours, followed by eating a feast of six dishes. My family beetroot curry recipe is so good it was picked for an exciting chapter in a new cookbook commissioned by Penguin, Random called Spice Odyssey, written by fabulous foodie travel writer, Cariema Isaacs, who has, in turn, inspired Sanju to produce her own Galle Fort Cook book
