A bit hard to find but well worth the visit. Some trails, a clean bathroom, ample pearling, and a great spot to stop with your picnic lunch. Amazing views, enjoyed our time there!

We loved the private out of the way picnic table we had on the east side of the park. Great views of the bay and boat traffic and peaceful location. Nice spot for an afternoon of doing nothing.

Descanso Bay Regional Park

Reviewed By HappySnr123 - Nanaimo, Canada

I just live in Nanaimo so it doesn't cost me a lot to spend a few days in this lovely campground. Being Senior I get to travel for free from Monday-Thursday. The only thing to watch out for is space is very limited during off-season. Usually, there are only 2 FCFS spots reserved for travelers who don't want to reserve a spot. I highly recommend to do so to make sure you have a place to camp and won't be disappointed. There's no shower facilities in this provincial campground or sani-dump. The place is quite small but there's enough trails and other day parks to visit during the day. It's quiet and if you love nature, this is a great and affordable campsite to stay.
