The first globe ever made is here! This well-laid out museum has something for everyone, from bronze age implements to medical weapons, to Durer artwork. We spent about 3 hours here, well worth the visit!

Kunstmuseum Bayreuth

Das Kunstmuseum Bayreuth wurde 1999 im Alten Barockrathaus der Stadt eröffnet. Es beherbergt verschiedene Sammlungen moderner Kunst und zeigt wechselnde Ausstellungen. Ein umfangreiches Vermittlungsprogramm mit Führungen und Kunstkursen rundet das Programm ab. Auf der Website des Kunstmuseums besteht die Möglichkeit unter der Rubrik „Kunstmuseum Bayreuth Online“, die Sammlungen des Hauses digital kennen zu lernen. Die Website informiert auch über das aktuelle Vermittlungsangebot des Kunstmuseums. Das Kunstmuseum Bayreuth hat es sich zum Ziel gesetzt, eine der ersten barrierefreien Kultureinrichtungen der Stadt Bayreuth zu sein. Eine Rampe ermöglicht Rollstuhlfahrerinnen und -fahrern den barrierefreien Zugang in das Museum. Ein Aufzug führt in die Ausstellungsräume im 1. und 2. Stock. Eine barrierefreie Station im Foyer informiert mit Videos und Tastkopien über das Haus und seine Sammlungen. Außerhalb des Kunstmuseums befindet sich eine behindertengerechte Toilette.
