Great walk along the boardwalk which follows the creek. Jump in the creek at one of six docks and float along. The water is chilly, but refreshing.

Visitors can view wildlife and fabulous flora and fauna from one of the many nature trails in this 1,000 acres of woods.
My husband and I went there this week. Has a cute visitors center and it was a nice easy hike which was well maintained wooden path. There were two nice lookouts as well.

Trail following Florida's oldest railroad line.
Having traveled hundreds, maybe thousands of miles, on Rails to Trails bike paths around the US, we have to say this is one of, if not THE, Best bike trail we have experienced. The scenery is spectacular, with magnificent live oak trees shading the trail and small farms along the way. The condition of the trail is excellent, straight, very well maintained, no debris, no bumps from tree roots. There is the added bonus of several concrete building rest rooms with benches. AND...get this...at each street crossing in which we encountered a vehicle, every single driver (total of 10) stopped to allow us to pass, waving us on. We have never encountered so many polite vehicle drivers while cycling. At the end of the trail there is a scenic park with picnic tables along the banks of the Wakulla River. There are informational signs along the way to tell you about the history of the trail and area. What a fantastic experience. We are already planning a return trip.

In the past 6 years I have done more than 15,000 miles on this 10-mile long trail and never got tired of it's ever seasonal changing beauty - especially if one bikes farther out north and north-east into the surrounding farming country with it's corn- peanut- and cotton fields. The trail itself is very well maintained by 3 very dedicated State Park workers. If you meet them somewhere along the trail, stop and tell them how much you appreciate their maintaining a trail, that a lot of more affluent communities would be proud of - but just do not have. So mostly used during the week by bikers, the trail attracts on weekend lots of families, many from towns others than Milton
