Things to do in Florida Keys, Florida Keys: The Best Golf Courses

June 2, 2021 Jeremy Dunfee

Stretching 126 miles south toward Cuba, the stunning Keys are a perfect escape. Highlights along the way include Key Largo, Islamorada, Marathon, Big Pine Key and the irrepressible Key West. Get up close with an amazing array of fish while snorkeling, diving or fishing in the warm turquoise waters. Creeks, coral and costumed spectacles are other lures along the way. Highway 1 is a spectacular ribbon tying together the islands and atolls of this paradise between the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic.

Here We Go Charters

Hi! I’m Captain Roger, I’ve been playing and working on the waters of Key West for almost 23 years and still loving it! I finally bought my first boat and started a charter business after working for many of the best charter businesses in Key West. 22’ Sea Pro Center Console with a large bimini-top that provides shade for 6 guests. Lots of seating, very stable and rides dry. The low gunnels are great for sandbars; hanging around the boat, chatting, snacking and reaching for more.

Key West Golf Club

Played the Rees Jones' designed course in a random threesome .For starters the pro shop and starter were pleasant and welcoming. It was a busy morning but tee times ran just a few minutes behind. The course itself offers a fun but challenging round. Fairways are fairly generous, sometimes pinched by ponds or native trees. Greens are a good size and on the slick but fair side. Four sets of tees make it playable for all and for me the only negative that busy day was an almost five hour round. However, highly recommended play and the only game in town. Enjoy!
