Windmills, clogs and cheese Join me to the beautiful countryside of the Netherlands. With its moderate sea climate The Netherlands is a favorite place for resident and migrating birds. Conveniently located on the East Atlantic Flyway it is a major hub for millions of migrating coastal birds like Terns, Spoonbills, Avocets, Curlews and Godwits. As well as lots of geese and ducks! For birds of prey lovers the marshlands offer great opportunities to see majestic White Tailed Eagles, Harriers, Kites, Buzzards and Osprey. We are always looking for rare and beautiful birds, from song birds like Hawfinches, Wheatears, Warblers and Bluethroats to Kingfishers, Bitterns and Pallid Harriers! Our national parks are geared towards bird watchers with many easy accessible blinds and lookouts. On this full day trip we will take you on a walk in one of our biggest nature reserves, with lakes, wetlands, swamps and grasslands, which is home to a huge variety of bird species, of which 31 are on the European endangered species list. The area is also home to big herds of large grazers.

Bruchim haba'im! Explore the Jewish heritage of Amsterdam. Explore the former Jewish part of the city and learn everything about the importance of the Jewish community for the city of Amsterdam in the past and today. During our walking tour we will also visit the Jewish Historical museum, the Portuguese Synagogue, the Holland Theatre and the Auschwitz monument. The Jewish Historical museum is located in four former Ashkenazi synagogues which are connected with each other. The museum provides a perfect impression about Jewish life in Amsterdam from the beginning around 1600 until today.

The 17th century is called the 'Golden Age'. The new born Republic of the Netherlands was extremely wealthy and its citizens were very confident. The painting industry was booming. More than 5 million paintings have been made during the Golden Age, more than anywhere else in that period. Some of the painters are now world famous, e.g. Rembrandt, Frans Hals & Vermeer. We will walk in the footsteps of Rembrandt and see the places where he used to live and work. Some locations have been unchanged since his time and you will learn more about his life in his own environment. We combine the walk with a visit to the world famous Rijksmuseum where you can admire the real work of Rembrandt and his contemporaries! Learn everything about the different painting genres and admire the marvellous paintings of the Dutch masters. The Rijksmuseum is our biggest treasury for art and history. On our way south you will see typical Dutch polder landscape. This area is marked by windmills, dikes and little canals. We will pass Rotterdam, the biggest port and gateway to Europe, and cross the former islands of the province of Zealand with its neat villages, beautiful countryside and sandy beaches. We will also see the huge flood barriers that protect the lowlands and keep our feet dry. We cross the Belgian border and soon after we will arrive in medieval Bruges. You can explore the city on board of a canal cruise, followed by a guided city walk. You will be impressed by the Market square and the Burgt square, the beautiful city hall, the fish market and the church of Our Lady with a statue of Michelangelo. What's about tasting Bruges' chocolate, a waffle, Flemish fries or the famous beer? There is time for shopping too! On our way back to Amsterdam we will have a short stop in Antwerp or at the border (time permitting).

A scenic drive through the Dutch countryside takes us to theKeukenhof, the most exciting and colorful spring gardens of the world. You will have the opportunity to visit these famous gardens in the heart of the flower bulb district. You will see tulips but also crocuses, hyacinths, daffodils and many other spring flowers. There is something for everyone: the flowers, indoor exhibitions, theme gardens, flower parades, a windmill, sculptures and even special routes for children. After lunch we will visit the Dutch countryside to see neat Dutch villages and explore the more traditional way of living in the Netherlands with its windmills, wooden shoes and cheese.
