One of our first stops in Fez was Art D'Argile. We were given a thorough tour demonstrating the craftsmanship and artistry that goes into each piece. Perhaps we were a bit naive, but even still, ending up in the showroom was an acceptable quid pro quo for the amount of time we took and questions asked during the tour. In the end we did buy several pieces of pottery that we absolutely love. I highly recommend this if you have the slightest interest in ceramics. After our experience at Art D'Argile, we began to be quite wary of the great expectations of souk owners seeking our money for their goods with much less care and attention. Our Art D'Argile tour guide treated us like a guest, most souk owners treated us like goats (cash cows).

Dear visitors ; Please call us and we send you a car to your hotel to bring you as fear you get lost or missleaded. We would like to inform you that we are a coopérative And apprenticeship center. We are specialised in mosaic & pottery of fes production. As you know mosaic is part of our culture this is why you may find a lot of people love discovering how the medina walls were made from the little tiny pieces. We are a very famous family in fes and the biggest copperative in the medina as we have more than 60 family living behind this handicraft. Dear visitor we would like to inform you that we are autonom and we sell by ourselves what we do produce with no push and any encouragements are welcomed. NB:please any tip is not obligatory but volentary and if you find any difficulty please contact our adminestarion.
We had the good fortune to find our way to this wonderful place where the meticulous craftsmanship involved in creating Fes' unique ceramics is executed to perfection as it has been for generations. Visitors are provided with a tour that shows every step in the process (except for the actual firing of the ceramics, which has been relocated outside the city limits), where you can see the artisans at work. Although the finished items are of course for sale, there are no high-pressure tactics on display here, so you can enjoy the experience of the incredible variety of designs and the skills needed to make them without feeling obligated to buy. If you do want to buy, the extremely helpful staff will pack and ship your delicate purchases internationally--and we here in the USA can vouch for at least one set of extremely well cared-for items arriving in perfect condition. Well worth a visit!

" We recently visited Morocco and the ancient city of Fes where our guide took us to the talisman art gallery in the Fes medina. The medina itself is fascinating and the Talisman gallery a revelation. It is a large, exotic museum housing a huge range of high end antiquities down to much smaller and cheaper items of jewelry, bronzes etc. Importantly, management of this gallery operates with integrity. International shipping agent DHL, refused to transport to Australia an item of ancient weaponry I purchased (due to recent law changes in our country). Management apologised for this even though it was not their fault and refunded the purchase price when we were back in Australia. Visitors to Fes could do worse than visit this excellent gallery even if just to look. "
