The ruins of this third-century city are 90 miles from Shiraz.
Bishapur was an ancient city in Sasanid era. The road linked the Sassanid capitals Estakhr (very close to Persepolis) and Ctesiphon. It is located south of Shiraz. There are lots of structures there from Sasanid to Ilkhanid Era. The most beautiful and important part of the city is Anahita temple which is figure as the divinity of the Waters and hence associated with fertility, healing and wisdom Try to go there with a local guide who they explain completely about history of this amazing ancient city.

maximum 40 kilometers far from Shiraz city ,Iran there is one of the most important necropolis in whole of the world, backs to the ancient history .it is called Naghshe Rostam in Persian Language. 5 kilometers far from this ancient Necropolis was located the capital of the Achaemenid Empire (Persepolise c. 550–330 BC) it is something mysterious ,glorious, you can walk through the history.it is good reminder for glory of Persian empire. The rock tombs belong to four Achaemenian kings. afterwards The ancient tombs attracted Sasanian kings as well. They wished to imitate the glory of the Achaemenian kings; maybe that is why they created huge reliefs besides the tombs. but there are different evidences which shows in the Elamite period ,this place also was very important.rock relief in this sacred place shows that this place was apparently located near one of the political and ritual capital at ancient time. i can not forget this cultural site ...

Qal'eh Dokhtar is a castle made by Ardashir I( Sassanid era ) in 209 AD. It is located on a mountain slope near the Firouzabad-Kavar road in Fars Province. This palace used to be a residential palace for the royal family, politicians and high profile people. One can reach to castle with staircase which give you different angles from the castle. Although this castle is kind a ruined, its absolutely worth visiting.

Capital of ancient Persia was founded by Cyrus The Great and has remains of his palace, tomb and a temple.
Here at Pasargad, in a gabled temple recalling early ziggurats, lies Cyrus the Great who confederated two powerful Aryan states, Media and Persia and established the Persian Empire by 559 B.C. Cyrus' tomb, a miniature ziggurat, a single enduring structure, potent beyond any consideration of dimension. Take your time and enjoy your visit.

It must have been great to experience this public amenity back in the day. Persia was so much more sophisticated than many of its European counterparts when it came to such facilities although, to be fair, they were probably copied from either the Romans or the Greeks. Well worth a visit.
