Pilgramunna

Reviewed By Finlay122 - Perth, Australia

The gorge is not sign posted on the main road so it is easy to miss. The unsealed access road is more or less opposite the turn off for Pilgramunna Beach. The track is sandy and quite high in places, so we didn't risk it in our 2WD and parked it at the start of the road and walked in. A short walk up the road and you will see signs for the gorge. The walk through the gorge itself is short and you can only go as far as the signs allow. It does however, have lots of quiet shady spots to escape the heat and enjoy the sounds of the birds. Look carefully up along the ledges and you will spot little rock wallabies. Sometimes they are down in the gorge and as long as you are quiet they will sit quite happily only a short distance from you.

Thomas Carter Lookout Walk

Reviewed By Finlay122 - Perth, Australia

Great walk, not too challenging, but probably best not done if it's too hot as there is no shade and it takes a 2 - 3 hours to complete. The views of the canyons are incredible though and a great reward for your efforts. We walked the loop first finishing at Shothole Canyon view point - that way you feel rewarded - starting at the view is a bit like peaking too soon as there is not much to compare on the main part of the walk. We did not have a 4WD and tackled the long, rough road in a Suzuki Swift. It is not for the faint hearted, but if you take your time you can do it - we parked at the picnic area before Thomas Carter Lookout and walked the kilometre or so from there. Take plenty of water and make sure you have a hat.

Learmonth Jetty

We drove out here from Exmouth twice. Its easy fishing of the end of the jetty and some people were fishing off the beach. There were a few squid caught when we were there and we caught a feed of fish both times we were there.

We went and had a look and loved the beach surrounding the wreck. It is clean and easy excess. Loved walking along the beach and taking photo's of the wreck.
