Established around A.D. 972, Esztergom has always played an important role in Hungary's history. It was the birth and coronation place of the first Hungarian king, St. Stephen, as well as the capital of Hungary until the 13th century. Esztergom is the seat of the Hungarian Catholic Church and home to the Basilica of Esztergom, a masterpiece of Classicism and the third largest church in Europe.

We had an incredible tour with Idilko and a private driver in a Mercedes van (he was not introduced by he was very competent!). My husband and I did the tour with my 80 year old parents and both staff were kind and patient and showed us the highlights of the city while keeping in mind to avoid long walks or lots of stairs. Idilko is incredibly knowledgable about the long and interesting history of her city. We really enjoyed getting to know beautiful Budapest; we’ll be back!

Don’t use! They didn’t pick us up from our hotel leaving us to get a tax. The man on the phone was extremely rude trying to interrupt me whilst I was talking and refused to give me a refund. The locals said cheap and sh*t. I certainly agree! I shall never be using them again.
