I am very lucky, to live within walking distance, lived in Ascot for over 32 years, but only discovered the internal tarmac track within Ascot race track - The Heath - only 2 years ago for walking the dogs. The circuit is 1.2 miles approx and with a little incline to make you work a little (cardio) and takes about 25 - 40 mins, depending on pace. Social distancing observed obviously. Recommended, lots of sky to take in and It gives you a mindful lift, in normal times coffee shops, eateries and bakers in High Street. Entrance through Ascot High Street and Winkfield Rd by Walkway tunnels under the grass track.

A visit to Beverley Racecourse is a seriously good day out, a fact that the people of Beverley have been quite rightly proud of for over 300 years. Set in the stunning surroundings of The Westwood, the racecourse hosts horse racing between April and September every year. We have 19 race meetings in total, 11 of which feature extra entertainment and fun, from the family-themed May Day with a petting zoo and funfair rides to the glamour of Ladies' Day. For the racing fan, our Very British Raceday in June with its two feature races for the country's best two-year-old horses sees them battle it out in a fast and furious contest up our infamous uphill 5 furlong sprint (a furlong being about 660 feet for the as-yet uninititated.) There's always a warm welcome at Beverley, and whether you prefer to bring the family with a picnic and a rug or your friends for an afternoon of fun and catching up, you'll find lots of like-minded people enjoying the day and the excitement of watching your horse thundering home. Many racecourses could learn from Ripon Made welcome to bring in a picnic, with a reasonable amount of alcohol (4 cans per person) area for your own chairs near the rails, area set aside for everyone to go up to the rails. Very friendly staff, plenty of tables and chairs in other areas. Park for children away from bookies. Lovely clean toilets, plenty of rubbish bins, staff going around regularly emptying them, very little rubbish left around Really good day out - see you again

Was so lucky to have been to this fabulous race course on 14th March St. Patrick's day Thursday at the festival. Every bit of the course is top class, really well organised and all the staff were brilliant. We was in the Club enclosure so brilliant view, really friendly atmosphere. It was my 1st time at horse racing so even if you have like me never been to the race's I truly recommend the Cheltenham festival. The horses are stunning. During the festival there is a vast amount of stalls, bars and shopping.

Racing has been taking place at Cartmel since 1856. Came here for the May Bank Holiday Meetings and was amazed. We have been to quite a few racecourses but this was a real experience, never been to one like this one. it was fabulous, a real party atmosphere with fun fair and bbq's and everyone is allowed to take there own food and drink and have a picnic if they wish. You can't see a lot of the course when the horses are racing but it is still great fun and very entertaining. We were very lucky and got fabulous weather but unfortunately if you don't get the weather then this lovely little course would be a wash out. We really loved it so we are going back next year.

A day out at Fakenham Races lends itself to be one of the top days out in Norfolk for the whole family. With racecourse entry costing from just £10 for an adult and all children under 18 years old coming for free, it is a fun and affordable day outdoors. There are 13 jump race meetings in the fixture card between the months October and June with some of the most popular meetings on New Year's Day, Easter Monday and annual Jarrold Ladies Day in June. Fakenham Racecourse is also home to an all year round caravan site with over 120 pitches, some overlooking the racecourse and others within the racecourse grounds. There are toilet and shower facilities and free WIFI on site. With only 30 minutes drive away from the coast, Fakenham Racecourse caravan site is an ideal location for your caravan holiday away from a busy hustle at the seaside, but with an easy access to award-winning Norfolk beaches.

We stayed here for 3 nights, nice site, we were beside the club house and race course. Loud music from club house Saturday night but only until 11.30 ish. Clean and tidy with grass being cut around you. Very close to town centre 10/15 minutes walk via footpath.

This is a regular venue for us and the reason is because it is so good. Other racecourses could learn a lot from this place and how it looks after its customers. At £16 the entry to Tattersalls is good value and the viewing is fabulous. There is a nice mainly glass stand close to the winning post that gives great viewing should the weather be very cold. Access to the parade ring and winners enclosure is easy and there are plenty of bookmakers to have a bet with. The bar facilities are excellent and it must be the easiest racecourse in the country to buy a drink at. The big bar man from Middlesbrough is a great bloke and his service isoutstanding. The racing itself is usually good quality and we actually walk it from the town centre. This perhaps is one area for potential improvements as there are you are no taxis after racing when we were there. A shuttle bus from the town centre would be a great addition as well.

Its a long trip to Aintree from Hampshire so was hoping for a good day. After getting in we had a fantastic days racing. As a regular visiter of jumps venues it was a bucket list to go to Aintree. Small crowd due to covid probably made it better. Only minor problem was getting a coffee as it was a long wait but just waited till later. Seriously pondering a grand national visit rather then cheltenham next year which keeps getting more and more expensive. Excellent staff very friendly.
