There is so much to do in this area, and lots of springs to visit. Alley Spring is the crown jewel, with lots of parking, and in normal times the store, school, and mill are open to visit in addition to the spring. The spring is a gorgeous blue, and there is a short .3 mile walk around the back of the spring and along the creek/outflow. If you add the Overlook Trail to the loop, it’s 1.5 miles with a great view from above.

Blue Spring

Reviewed By jenna1776

I grew up in FL with access to many different springs. I have never seen anything like this. The blue you see in pictures is accurate. The hike to the spring is pretty easy and not too far from the parking area. The gravel road leading in has some steep points and rides a bit like a slalom course in spots. I second another reviewer who suggests 4x4 if possible. It’s about a 10 minute ride from 106. Strongly urge visitors to have bug spray on hand. It’s worth every bit of what it takes to get to the spring. I’m glad it’s being preserved and that it’s tucked away deep in the woods. Hopefully it remains unspoiled for generations to come.

This is our first time here, I wasn’t sure what to expect in March. The days are nice and the evenings are chilly. And this is a great place. Good trails, beautiful view, really nice walk by the river, view of the Bluffs. We stayed in a two bedroom cabin and it’s really nice, we were able to bring our dog. A really big deck, with an unbeatable view. The fireplace in the cabin is lovely. And there’s also a community fire ring outside. We have found the employees to be friendly and helpful. We checked in on a Sunday, and it’s very low traffic. Nice and quiet. There are couples here and families with kids. It’s perfect for everyone. We walked along the river today, and tomorrow we’re trying some trails. This park wasn’t built until 2016, so everything is pretty new. It’s very nicely built.
