Each day will bring you new experiences and opportunities to learn more about Ecuador,
My sister and I spent a truly amazing day riding in Cotopaxi nat park. Fernando picked us up from our hotel in Quito at 8 in the morning. It took a little more than an hour to get to Cotopaxi. On the way we stopped a couple of times at scenic places. Once arriving at the national park, another guide (who's name I unfortunately have forgotten, sorry about that) was already saddling the horses. We got warm ponchos and long leather chaps, and Fernando even lent his hat and gloves to my sister! The horses were good, the weather was great. We (we=my sis & I, Fernando and the other guy) rode for a couple of hours in most beautiful landscapes, crossed rivers, saw wild horses, had lunch at a beautiful pond at the side of the snowcapped volcano, and then rode back to the parks gate for another 1,5 hours. Everything was just perfect! We were back at the hotel around four a clock.

Hacienda La Danesa (accommodation available) is a traditional dairy and cacao farm with over 145 years of rich heritage and history, located about an hour drive from Guayaquil, Ecuador. Family-owned and managed by the third generation Olsen family, the farm offers a unique selection of tailor-made activities for guests, including horseback riding trails, hands-on artisan chocolate making and other hacienda-related programs. La Danesa offers an intimate and authentic experience for those who would like to spend the night.
Showed us amazing hospitality - made us feel like special guest. We took advantage of all the activities - cacao growing, chocolate making, tubing, horseback riding, bicycling. Our guides were attentive and very informative. Lunch was delicious, and service was first class. Property is beautiful, and production facilities are very interesting. Only downside is that it is a very long ride from Guayaquil.

The Kallari Chocolate Farm visit is a unique cultural experience which includes a variety of different options for guests, such as: visiting the cooperative centre, chocolate tasting presentation, Kichwa farm tour (overnight stay option), and a traditional Kichwa meal. Each guest will also have the opportunity to visit our main office to purchase our chocolate and other Amazon products.
The Kallari chocolate tour is superb. It’s an wonderful insight into te chocolate making process in Ecuador, as well as truly authentic experience on an Ecuadorian chocolate plantation (there’s more than we just chocolate!) we went with Giovani who was a an excellent guide, and everybody on the plantation was very welcoming. They also cooked us a delicious vegetarian meal (meat is available) and afterwards we dig into some of the chocolate we made ourselves. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Tena.

Just returned from a glorious visit to Gabby and David's Bee Farm. This place is magical, so beautiful and so welcoming for guests. Gabby will teach you a great deal about the importance of bees and sustainable protection, and David will fill your belly with beautiful organic food. Not to be forgotten are the sweet dogs who are often under your feet - but with a face like Chica - how can you refuse. Thank you Gabby and David for a glorious experience!

Welcome to Happy Fruit. We are a family run Agroecological farm, cultivate fruits and food, transform it in creative and healthy farm products and do ecotourism. Love to receave you in our beloved paradise :)
Happy fruit farm is a must stop for anyone in Ecuador or anyone heading to Peru! (It's about 40 min from the border) It is accessible and remote and is a project with a big heart! They take sustainable living and creativity with all seriousness, compassion and love for the world; while eating world class food ingredients grown right in the farm! Their tours are exceptional and give you a wonderful glimpse of Ecuador's ecosystems. Tanya is also an innovative vegetarian and vegan chef with much knowledge of the plants around her. She and Jorge make a great family team with big dreams! Come and be inspired (and eat really well)!

We offer a fascinating tourist and coffee experience, in the subtropical environment of the Northwest of Quito in Nanegalito. Recommended for coffee lovers and for those who appreciate its unique flavors and aromas. All the activities are experiential which allows the visitor to enjoy this experience, while learning about the production process of Ecuadorian specialty coffee.
You can’t imagine how beautiful this coffee shop is when you arrive, you have to wait until you pass the parking lot to appreciate the gorgeous house, view and ambiance. The coffee is excellent and the appetizers too. Good bolon and tasty humitas. Very nice service too. I totally recommend this place. It’s a new must to visit close to Quito.

El Trapiche Ecologico Galapagos is a wild tourist place where the process of organic products such as Adriano Cabrera's wild coffee, fine aroma chocolate, sugarcane and others are found. Unique in the Galapagos Islands and recognized worldwide.
We visited El Trapiche in Feb 2019, as part of an 8 day Cruise. El Trapiche is very rustic and demonstrates the old methods of extracting cane juice, roasting coffee beans, etc which are still in use today at this location. It was fun and very educational. The local people who operate this site also support the rest of the farm. They were polite, knowledgeable about their work and products, and many of them spoke english so those of who were language limited could participate and enjoy the experience. I highly recommend this farm tour for its experience and just the pure fun which was had.

This is on the way to the Tree House and definitely worth a stop. Quite a large collection of animals, mostly indigenous to this area. $4/person gets you admission and a handful of alfalfa to feed the critters - and they know you are coming. Just follow the loop around to feed the various animals. Especially liked the friendly, bushy donkey who followed us around. Great place for kids.
