My go-to place for fresh cut rhubarb and honey! Last year I had purchased some reusable beeswax fabric foodwraps as well. The drive there is part of the fun!

Tucked between Stanstead and Ayer’s Cliff, just five minutes from the border, Verger Heath is a two-century-old, family-owned heritage farm and orchard. Spend hours wandering through thousands of full-grown standard trees in dozens of classic and hard-to-find varieties—including MacIntosh, Cortland, Honeycrisp, Empire, Sunrise, Golden Russett, Kerr Crabapples, Wealthy and Bancroft —all surrounded by sunsets atop rolling hills. After you’ve filled your basket, visit The Stand to peruse handmade pottery, fresh veggies from the garden, jams and jellies, local mushrooms and the famous Heathen Hot Sauce (if you dare!). Call ahead to meet the proprietors, potter, Lynn Heath, and renowned Canadian folk singer Chris Rawlings. Perfect for an authentic orchard afternoon.
Verger Heath Orchard is a family run farm that has been contributing to the landscape of the eastern townships for decades. We first met Lyn at the Ayer's Cliff Market and were compelled to visit their orchard itself the following day to pick our own apples, buy some homemade salsa and jam....and try and make the impossible choice of choosing just SOME of Lyn's gorgeous pottery. I dare you to leave with just one piece. The styles, colours and glazes are a true feast for the eyes. We also were lucky to meet Chris at the orchard....and purchase CDs from this Canadian folk music mainstay! They are committed to their work; knowledgeable about their apples; and a testament to creativity, determination - especially in a summer unlike any other. Visit today!!! Your heart and kitchen will be better for it!
