I visited Valu beach with a view of Jaco, didnt get to the island coz it was windy but snorkeled on Valu beach and it was amazing, heaps of coral and fish, stayed at the beautiful Pousada in Tutuala (call Nico to book +670 77463880) with great views from the cliff top, the road (8kms) from Tutuala to Valu/Jaco was bad but work is in progress... Road scooter from Dili over 3 or 4 days and it was a mission to get there... Lots of road works in progress so hopefully all sections/roads will be much better soon... Stayed at Manatuto, Baucau and Com on the way, Com was nicest and cleanest seaside village I saw, stayed at Kati guesthouse right on beach (phone Angelo +670 75421650)

The drive is a challenge for sure, however well worth a visit if in the area or as part of a trip around the area, abandoned however the pools are still working and hot, hot, hot
