Bull City Ciderworks

The BULL doesn't play by the rules. Hard cider doesn't have to be sickeningly sweet and taste artificial. Our ciders are made with 100% apple juice and never back-sweetened with high fructose corn syrup, so you taste the apple in all its glory! Gluten-free yeast and ingredients ensure a naturally gluten-free cider. We're crafting unique ciders that bridge the gap between wine and beer. Honey, black tea, hops, ginger, tart cherries, bacon, candy corn and hibiscus allow us to redefine cider. The BULL is bucking the trend of mainstream ciders. Taste the revolution!

This place is fantastic. It's been a few weeks now, but for a while there I felt like I was there a minimum of once a week. They put out a wide selection of ciders, but also keep a few beers on tap for folks who might not be into the cider scene. Their single ciders are good, particularly the ginger, cherry, etc., but mixing it up is where it's at. Ask the staff for recommendations, and try some samples. My last half dozen trips in I've been mixing 50:50s, and these are often better than anything that you can get alone. Love one of their ciders, but it's a bit too sweet? Mix it with one that isn't quite sweet enough and you're golden. It's a fun new game, figuring out the best mixes, and offers some of the best ciders I've had there or anywhere. Definitely go often.

Stopped in here recently and was quite happy with their social distancing measures. Lots of tables removed, games are shut down and have extra chairs and tables stacked there. Clear signage on the entrances/exits and on the floor to demonstrate appropriate movement within the warehouse. Masks needed, but you can go up to the counter and place your orders and then find a table where you can distance from others. Or, find a table first and there are directions there to download an app that you can use to order from directly without leaving your table. You can order and pay right from your phone and have staff bring beer right over to your table. Really nice. So much room here, it really feels like you can find a spot that is nowhere near anyone else. I was really pleased with the experience and felt quite safe the whole visit. Beer selection is great, the best of the Durham breweries! Dog-friendly, inside and out.
