Drogheda (/ˈdrɒhədə/; /ˈdrɔːdə/; Irish: Droichead Átha, meaning "bridge of the ford") is one of the oldest towns in Ireland. It is known for its tourism and as a centre of industry and medical care. It is located in County Louth on the Dublin-Belfast corridor on the east coast of Ireland, 49 km or 30 miles north of Dublin, with a population of approximately 41,000 inhabitants (2016). It is the last bridging point on the River Boyne before it enters the Irish Sea. The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Newgrange is located 8 km to west of the town.

A beautiful and unique place to visit for those with a love of art or history. The gallery is sited in the former Drogheda Franciscan Church and part of the Friary; known locally as the ‘High Lane Church’. The Franciscans gifted the property to the people of Drogheda when they ended their 760 year association with the town in 2000. The buildings date from the early 19th century, though elements date back to earlier times.
Interesting paintings and pictures of the Town, Very helpful staff to explain everything, nice cafe adjoining

Quel surprise!!! We were greeted by Raymond, a superb host! We were shown to our fabulous room with amazing bay windows and superb bathroom with wet room shower and free standing bath. Amazing view overlooking the courtyard where I was able to lie on the chaise longue watching visitors come and go...and was jealous of those attending the amazing gin school!! We met Raymond at breakfast in the tearoom both mornings where we had fabulous coffee & croissants to compliment the continental breakfast. Raymond happily gave us on the history of Listoke which was so interesting. We then were given a tour of the gin school...A...MAZING!! Can't wait to re visit Listoke and experience a full Gin school experience!! Ps had the best relaxing time and went into Drogheda to a restaurant recommended by Raymond...soon good we went twice!! Have raved about this place all day and have already booked a friend in before I left. Raymond WE WILL BE BACK!! Thankyou
