This is a beautiful lake, We stayed at the Lac Kivu Lodge and at Tchegera Island Camp, both places were beautiful and the food was excellent. At Tchegera Island Camp you can swim in the lake and Kajak. Really worth the visit.

There are several restaurants and hotels from which one can get a great view of the Congo River, particularly looking from Brazzaville over to Kinshasa. Ironically there is no bridge across to connect these two big capital cities. One can watch local fishermen at work. There is a majestic bridge across the Djoue River very near where this tributary empties into the Congo. The bridge should be seen both in the day and when it is lighted at night. To the east of the city the river divides and meanders through small islands, but just to the west, one finds rocky rapids, giving the Congo both a peaceful and somewhat dangerous character.

Surrounded by the equatorial forest, Ma Vallée is a scenic African lake.
It felt like visiting a little Eden in Kinshasa. If only I previously knew, I would of came in here time ago. To reach it, wasn't the easiest. Had to do it bikes, because the roads weren't ideal for taxis. But that made it even better, the road leading to the park was marvellous. We took a 1hr+ walk around the lac, the water was prestine, the walk path was clean, the air was clean.. It couldn't have been better. Once finished, they have a restaurant inside, the food was delicious, a bit expensive but its worth it. Last but not, entry fee 5$ for adults, 3$ for kids. A must visit place for anyone, with water sports for the young ones, you won't be disappointed.
