Dahlonega sits at the southern terminus of the Appalachian Trail on Springer Mountain. It was the site of the first major U.S. gold rush—in 1828, 20 years before the California gold rush. Dahlonega's commercial district is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It’s home to wineries,a thriving performing and visual arts scene and plenty of outdoor activities all year round.

This is more of a walk than a hike but it’s a beautiful walk. You follow the edge of the lake. Cross over a few streams. Great way to spend a few hours in nature.

Stan, Brian and the girls were friendly, knowledgeable and took the time to fit the horses to experience. We were three Senior ladies that had a nice ride through the woods and across a couple of streams.

This isn't a big zoo. This is like a rescue with birds, monkeys, baboons, bears, donkeys, zebras, a zedonk, a bison, an ox-thing, emus, horses, tigers, maybe an alligator. You can get food to feed some of them, and the whole circuit is about 1/4 mile. I give it 5 stars because it is close and it is still a sweet little place. So, set your expectations for a good petting zoo, where the animals are well-behaved and clean.

Best ride ever!!! On the trail we encountered deer - a doe and her two fawns! Amazing! on the "Moonshine" Trail, there are old stills from prohibition that make for a great story! The scenery and greenery were stunning! Thanks to David, Gary, Tommy! Don't just stop at the horseback riding! Book a cabin of your own with a hot tub inside!! My go-to vacation spot!!!
