We visited the zoo the other day, it has most animals you could think off, they seemed well kept for the most part, a zookeeper mark allowed us to get a once in a lifetime photo with a giraffe, and you could tell he cared deeply about the animals, thought it was a great day out. We did think the monkey enclosures could be bigger and were a little on the small side, again with the birds and the ostriches. But other than that, the majority of the animals seemed to have big time enclosures and plenty of space to roam. And they are all rescue animals from what I understood, so have deffo got a better quality of life. I wouldn’t eat there though we went to the cafe which had run out of hand sanitiser when we entered, so we informed the staff, but then when we left it still hadn’t been refilled which during corona times is quite irresponsible. But if you like going to the zoo, take your own lunch and hand sanitiser and you will have a good day out ????

This is a specially tailored package where we have taken the best bits of the 260 km trail and created an 8 day tour with 6 days of walking. You will explore crusader’s castles: St Hilarion and Kantara, charming village of Bellapais and ancient mosaics, monasteries and churches tucked away in forests with plenty of exercise in between to keep you fit. The hike starts at Cape Korucam in the west of the island and makes it’s way along the Kyrenia mountain range to Cape Zafer, the easternmost point of the island and the end of the whole trail, which lies approx. 250 km away. The highly varied trail first goes along the shore and then climbs to the low western ridge of the Beşparmak Mountains.

It was very nice, clean, typically Cypriot accommodation with home grown, organic vegetable produce and meals. The staff were helpful and friendly and the Ambelia Village hotel is nicely laid out with a lovely pool - but best to catch the sun in the morning and early afternoon! We followed 3 walks which each had historic places to see. the written instructions in English were not very comprehensive, a little confusing at times and not very well laid out - it would have been helpful to have more idea of distances indicated between each instruction. The Garmin provided helped keep us on track, expecially when the taxi driver dropped us at the slightly wrong start point on two occasions! I think it would be an improvement to have more paths to choose from which are soft underfoot through forest rather than on hard stone roads which can be used by vehicles.

I was riding on-road for a couple of years and came to the park to try out off-road. I came twice to the park and both my experiences were just amazing and breathtaking. Pampos accompanied me those two times. He took time for me to introduce me to the new terrain and really challenged me as well. All in all a super friendly, cool, welcoming and beautiful place with nice people. A must do for all who are in love with motorbikes or just want to challenge themselves properly.

I completed the RYA Level 2 Powerboat course at this centre. Booking in advance was easy and the team made the effort to find a date for the course which suited me. The course was run in a friendly and relaxed manner, but was still thorough, with excellent instruction from Dave. All precautions against covid were taken to ensure everyone's safety throughout. I definitely learned a lot and got a good feel from the place, I will be back for some more in the future!

Then we arrive at the former summer residence of the French royal Lusignans dynasty – the city of Kyrenia. It is the largest city in Northern Cyprus. Stroll through the narrow streets of the Old town, go down to the beautiful promenade to spend your free time. Within the fortification walls of the Venetian Castle explore the Shipwreck Museum housing the remains of the 4th century B.C. cargo ship, from the times of Alexander III of Macedon, and the fragmented goods it carried. This is a must-do day trip if you're in the Kyrenia area and have some extra time! The hike is not long (4.5 miles), but it is all above 21,000 feet so, while it is challenging for that reason, it is also one of the best day trips in North Cyprus! This trip can be tailor made throughout the year to suit your requirements.
Inclusions: Bottled water, Air-conditioned vehicle
Exclusions: Lightweight hiking shoes or hiking boots, Walking poles
Last week my husband and I completed a series of walks in the Kyrenia mountain range in north Cyprus. It was organized by Kaleidoskop Turizm. We were very impressed with the arrangements they had made, the punctuality with which everything was executed and the care that this agency showed towards us. We were met on the day after our arrival at our resort and given all the information about the hikes, a GPS machine, a local mobile phone and an emergency contact number. A driver took us to the start of the hike and collected us at the end of each day. It worked like a swiss clock! Kyrenia mountain range is truly a magnificent area. We enjoyed the sea views, loved the smell of the pine trees, listening to the tinkling of goats bells and we visited several historical places en route like castles, tucked away churches some of which are in ruin but are nevertheless interesting. We have promised ourselves to return in the spring as we were told the trails are full of wild flowers but this time around we enjoyed a swim as the sea offers the warmest temperature after the summer sun has done its job.
