The 18-hole par 72 championship golf course is situated on a 310 acre private Island minutes from Waterford City, with the Resort offering family friendly lodges and a luxury Castle hotel. Designed by Des Smyth, former Ryder Cup Player & Vice Captain, the course combines the best of parkland and woodland areas including numerous scenic and strategically challenging features. In addition to the par-72, 6,814-yard golf course covering an area of over 200 acres, Waterford Castle Golf Club features a 300-yard driving range, practice green and short game area with chipping and putting greens. I organized golf at Dungarvan Golf Club for last week and all 20 of our group were taken with the condition of the course. We have an equal number of high and single figure golfers and all found the course to be challenging but fair. We were looked after really well by the Professional David Hayes and his pro shop staff. After golf we all ate in the clubhouse and we had a great choice of food on the menu. A big thanks to the catering staff for the beautiful food and service. Lastly l must mention Irene for her professionalism in the way she dealt with the booking. We will definitely be back
