This is one location visitors can see when they go to Bru na Boinne. If your time allows you to see only one of the sites, then choose to go to Newgrange instead of this one. If, however, your schedule has enough time for you to see both, by all means do. The two offer different experiences. If you purchased OPW (Office of Public Works) cards, you want to check to see if this location is one that is free for cardholders. We bought the cards on our first day in Ireland and used them daily, sometimes multiple times a day. If you're a history fan, you may want to consider buying these cards too. A bus takes visitors to the site of these ancient burial tombs that are old like the pyramids of Egypt. The sides of the mounds are constructed of large boulders with hand-carved images made by creative hands thousands of years ago. Fascinating to see and wonder at how and why they were made. At the end of the tour, visitors can climb up to the top of the largest tomb and admire the gorgeous views of the surrounding countryside. Tour guides keep visitors captivated by details about the tombs, their construction, the geniuses who made them, and their rediscovery in modern times.

The many views and lovely parkland along the River Boyne, highlighted by grazing sheep and several cute donkeys made strolling along the river and visiting the lush gardens a real treat. Staying at Highfield House B&B with its grand country house style appearance graced with colorful manicured flower displays overlooking the Boyne River across the road made it irresistable to trot down the driveway and cross to the riverside for a stroll through the parks and gardens before crossing the bridge to go down into Trim town center for dinner. What a wonderful way to get over initial jetlag in the verdant green countryside of Ireland by enjoying such a lovely small town on the River Boyne.

Tayto Park is open 7 days a week 9.30am- 7pm. Located in Ashbourne, Co. Meath and just 30 minutes from Dublin is Ireland’s only theme park and zoo, With something for everyone; young, old and in between. For the thrill seekers, the Cu Chulainn, Ireland’s first rollercoaster and Europe’s first wooden rollercoaster with an inversion, is sure to get your adrenaline flowing. But that’s not all, there are a huge variety of attractions, from Rollercoaster's to playgrounds, to steam train's and much much more! And for those who don’t need an increased heart rate to have a good time, enjoy a laid-back stroll through our zoo, where you can interact with the exceptional animal collection, from the mischievous meerkats to the largest of the big cats, the amur tiger.
fab place to visit, lots and lots to do for all ages, lots of free activities for small children, can get very busy so usual queuing unavoidable, disappointed in actual factory tour though (self guided), picnic areas available, would love to return again.

We drove up from Dublin today and enjoyed our walk in Girley Bog superbly. The air is fresh and the silence is wonderful. We spent almost three hours roaming around Girley Bog and only met two other walkers and a doggy, it was as if we had the place to ourselves. It’s well worth a visit, must be absolutely delightful in Summer.

I've driven by this place many times and persuaded a friend to visit with me. We enjoyed a lovely walk through the grounds as far as the salt marshes - wonderful views all round. The staff in the gift shop are friendly and knowledgeable and we felt welcome to revisit any time. We finished up in the café, where we both relished a hot, filling soup in a very cosy setting. The staff there are absolutely lovely too. Will definitely be back later in the year!

I liked it. Visited in October and it was muddy and a little slippy so wear appropriate footwear. Its a wild exploring forest with little signage, take the smaller paths off the big ones to enjoy different types of landscapes. There were lots of acorns.
