Free walk and parking. Great amenity in Laois. Lots of space for roaming around and a picnic is ideal. We did not go to the cafe, so can't comment on that.

I only live 30km from this gem and had been here about 30 years as a young boy. My word, they are just gorgeous! So well maintained, it’s only such a shame the house was demolished in the 50s. It’s a pity more isn’t made of the gardens from a marketing and tourism point of view. Like a nice coffee shop. Well worth a visit if visiting Kilkenny Laois area- this needs to be integrated into a proper itinerary as it would be a lovely day trip from Kilkenny city coupled with the Discovery park, Abbeyleix and the Slieve blooms- we are hopeless at marketing in this country, we should be shouting from the rooftops about gems like these

Ballintubbert House is a period home set in 19 acres of beautifully landscaped, art and craft style gardens. It is an enchanting work of art – intimite & extraordinarily peaceful. The gardens have been designed with over 40 garden ‘rooms’. The Main House, Schoolhouse and grounds are available to hire for private functions and events throughout the year. We also have a Grand Pavilion Marquee on site. Ballintubbert Gardens and House will be exclusively yours for the duration of your event to explore and enjoy. Our gardens are open to the public on Thursdays from 10am-5pm, between April-September. Check our Facebook page for updates as we may need to close to the public some Thursdays due to private functions. We also hold a number of garden open weekends throughout the Summer , these dates will be added to our Facebook page. We look forward to welcoming you to Ballintubbert.
