The chateau was closed from 12.00 to 14.00 and we arrived at 11.40 so it was pointless going in for such a short time. The village however is remarkably well preserved and quiet beautiful. It was very calm the day we visited it but I suspect it is busier in high summer. It is well worth going out of you way to see the village if only for the panoramic views. Be prepared for steep hills.
