This place is simply extraordinary and a MUST SEE if your in Greece. It was the VERY FIRST Greek UNESCO site, and that alone tells you how special it is and speaks volumes beyond words given the amazing archeological sites in Greece. I actually discovered this phenomenal place by accident when I took a wrong turn after I left Ancient Olympia, I saw it listed on a road sign and decided to give it a go and was sooooooo glad I did. What ensued was an absolutely magical drive thru gorgeous rural Greek countrysides, culminating upon the majestic mystical mountain where the site is located. The atmosphere is electric with arcane energy up there and the very earth itself takes on enchanted properties previously unbelieved, and it suddenly becomes crystal clear why the ancient people chose that very special site for this fantastic wonder. The views up there are absolutely awesome and after witnessing the outstanding magnitude of the site its hard to know what's more impressive.... the fact the ancient people got all that super heavy building material way, Way, WAY up there, or the fact they were able to build it way, Way, WAY up there !!!!! Either way it's truly an exceptionally tremendous and incredibly monumental feat !!!!!!! Birthplace of Western Civilization indeed :) It's remote, yet you'll be be well rewarded for your efforts with the experience of a lifetime !!!

This was one of the most beautiful places we visited in Greece. It is well worth the time it takes to get there, and it really isn't far from Corinth. We were there in the off season so everything was closed. The aqueduct ruins were fascinating. Don't cheat yourself, make the walk to the Lighthouse. There are so many great views, and you can enjoy exploring the rocks and paths. My daughter's dream was to cliff jump and she did it....more than once!! It was January, the water was cold, but well worth it. On the sunny day we were there, it was not big deal. Just an amazing place to visit, and one we will definitely include when we go back to Greece!!!

In Solomos, just three kilometres away from the city of Ancient Korinth and its evocative castle of Akrokorinthos there is a an old traditional winery with a uniquy folklore collection, called Linos Museum The collection expands in four exhibitional rooms and a traditional coffee shop the "kafeneio". You can travel 200 years ago and experience the wealth of Greek history and tradition. You may also involve in agrotouristic activities in the museum's garden, our "perivoli". ...collect fresh vegetables and fruits or even eggs. Visitors may taste local wine and olive oil, all traditionally made. The museum is few meters away of the central square of the village and the church of Saint Constantine.

The Temple of Apollo is the most visible and obvious monument, in Ancient Corinth. Towering above the ruins of the ancient city, it can be seen from almost any vantage point - something which must have been true even 2,000 years ago. It is impressive, even in its remains and ruins and gives one a sense of just how impressive and monumental it was to the citizens and inhabitants of ancient Corinth. While the worship of the pagan god Apollo has long passed away, the remaining vestiges of his importance at the time are manifest in the magnificent remains of the Temple of Apollo to this day..
