Connecticut is a study in attraction and contrast. In one small state, you’ll find miles of sandy oceanfront shoreline, acres of forested hiking trails, and world-class museums, art and theater. Here family-friendly adventure parks and aquariums are just minutes from dynamic casino resorts and quaint, historic small towns — offering experiences that range from culinary to cultural, luxurious to laid-back. It’s the perfect place to unwind and recharge, all at the same time.

Came here on a groupon, pleasantly surprised! Cute little husband and wife owned place in Bpt, easy to miss as signage is not great but directly across from Caribe field on Asylum. They make gin to die for, plain whiskey, maple whiskey and vodka with flavors such as cinnamon (holy cinnamon) and ginger (so gingery). Everything is locally sourced and made in small batches. Highly recommend a visit and if you can’t make it here buy Asylum products from your local liquor store, you won’t be disappointed

When you drive down the gravel road and hang a right in the bus parking lot, you'll think you're lost, but you're not. Park by the sign and head on in to the 1920s Speakeasy. The atmosphere will have you asking for Gatsby, but I bet the whiskey is better. I am not a whiskey drinker, but there wasn't one sample I didn't like. The bartendress was so interesting and informative and we had a lot of fun with the other patrons. If you go, and you should go, pack some snacks and bring some friends. You can also do a tasting of their whiskey from beer casks- a very original experience. And that bottle in the picture- you need to taste that!!!

Popped in without reserving a tour, expecting just to maybe get a quick tasting. We were met at the door and offered a tour - which was very informative and our host was very friendly and patient with all of our questions. The tasting began with a drink from one of the barrels! Very generous tasting covered their range of bourbons, vodkas, gin, and canned mixed beverages - eat before you come!!! Not from the area (was up doing some leaf peeping), but will likely return. Enjoyed everything we tasted (one of us is a serious whiskey fan and the other not at all), as there is something for just about every taste. I think the shop could do with maybe selling smaller bottles. Not everyone is willing to spend that amount, and some might be more willing to take a few home if the price tag isn't as high. (Not that it's not worth it, but I just think not everyone who is doing tasting tours wants to buy that much)

NECC always seems to be bustling with activity but that business doesn't keep the staff from being friendly and attentive (although you may have to wait a minute to be served.) The offerings are ever changing with generally about six different flavors at any one time. The offers run from traditional to inventive and from sweet to bone dry so you are bound to find something you'll like. They also offer snacks and nibbles, many of which, like their cider, are gluten-free! They often host events and demonstrations. A fun place for couples or for groups of friends to meet and socialize.

The tour was a combination of the business's history, science, and the history of distillery equipment. The owner's passion for his business makes the tour even more interesting. They were the first craft spirits distillery in Ct. and have been around for 20 yrs.. They don't grow their own fruit for the brandies they distill but buy as locally as they can. The grounds are lovely, even on a rainy day. They have an attractive tasting room. It was interesting learning how much fruit it takes to make each bottle of brandy. It gave me a whole new respect for Kirsch.

We had such a fun experience tasting and touring the distillery. The gin was my favorite! It was great seeing the renovated space and learning the history. Excited to go back!
