Miles of white sand and romantic island resorts beckon from the hem of the Palmetto State. Families gravitate to Myrtle Beach and the 60-mile span of Grand Strand, where over 100 championship golf courses, tennis courts and nightclubs await. Charlestons hundreds of heritage buildings, and irresistible charm, are part of its allure. Beach resorts at Kiawah Island, Seabrook and Edisto Island make for romantic getaways. Marshes, moss-bearded palms and oak groves create ambiance in the haunting Lowcountry.

Love the small town 'beachy' atmosphere of the pier and surrounding area, only a few miles south of the commercial, touristy Myrtle Beach. We enjoyed both environments on different days. In response to "moochtn"...If you are serious about only wanting rest/relaxation, we stayed just a mile north at the Holiday Inn, right on the beach. It was quiet and relaxing. At night all we heard was the waves spilling onto the beach. There is a pool, hot tub, and fire pit area. Very romantic evening lighting. I believe we heard the faint booming of the fireworks, down the beach at the pier, but not obtrusive by any means. It did make us curious to find out what was going on...especially after all that 'rest and relaxation' ...know what I mean?

Part of the Memorial Waterfront Park complex, the 1250-foot long Mount Pleasant Pier stretches out into Charleston Harbor under the foot of the Arthur Ravenel, Jr. Bridge. The pier's foundation was created from pared-down pilings from the old Silas N. Pearman Bridge. One end of the pier features an 8,100-square-foot covered pavilion for hosting dances and other events. Visitors can enjoy beautiful views of the bridge and harbor from the pier's bench swings and shade structures. Pier Features - Fishing - Gifts and souvenirs - Made-to-order sandwiches, ice cream, fruit smoothies, and more at the River Watch Cafe and Gift Shop - Special events - Swings, picnic tables, and rocking chairs - Tackle sales and rod rentals
We really enjoyed the long walk out on the pier underneath the bridge. Lots of great views and could watch people fishing and walking all along the pier. Everything was clean and neat.

The Folly Beach Fishing Pier is closed for reconstruction that is expected to take 28 months, with the new pier opening approximately Spring of 2023. For more information, please visit our website.
This pier has it all! Gift shop, restaurant, and ice cream! The pier is absolutely gorgeous, and a nice walk. I love the upper deck feature as well. You pay to park but can stay as long as you like! Also within walking distance are lots of shops and restaurants along the strip. Fun way to kill a few hours!

The sun was shining and this was a beautiful walk enjoying the boats and the history of Georgetown. We enjoyed coffee and cake from the Indigo bakery as we sat on the boardwalk. There were several restaurants along the way and small shops to browse. A very nice afternoon visit from Surfside beach.

Part of the Springmaid Beach Resort, the Springmaid Pier stretches 1,060 feet into the ocean. The pier holds the state record for Spanish Mackerel and hosts numerous fishing tournaments. The pier's BARnacles Bar & Grille offers tasty food and drinks in a casual atmosphere. The kids will especially enjoy the hand-dipped ice cream!
The Springmaid Pier was a great place to go. It offered a great view of the Atlantic ocean and a great fishing spot as well. Unfortunately a hurricane in 2016 ruined this hot spot. Hopefully they get it built back soon!
