Horry County Bike Run Park

The Horry County Bike and Run Park (aka The Hulk) is a challenging trail from beginners to advanced. It is tucked minutes away from the beaches, and has surprising elevation that makes it a ton of fun. The trail is maintained very well by the Myrtle Beach Area Mountain Bike Association. The trail is marked well and gives riders many options depending on their skill set. If you are looking for a great place to go to challenge yourself and enjoy Mother Nature this is a must do when you visit Myrtle Beach.

Spanish Moss Trail

We rented bikes at University Bikes, only 1 mile from trail, easy to get to. The trail is peaceful and shaded. Don't bother going north past 170, as it parallels 21 the rest of the way, very busy, lots of cars and noise. South to Port Royal is beautiful.

This bike/ walking path goes for miles and miles beside the marsh, into the wooded areas, and beside Highway 17. It is very safe and a great way to bike from Murrells Inlet to Huntington Beach State Park.

The best section of the Palmetto Trail is the Awenday passage a 7 mile section from the canoe launch in Awendaw to Buck Hall. The parking is free at the canoe launch and you have to pay at Buck Hall if you park there. Start your hike at the canoe launch parking lot and hike for a couple of hours and return to the same parking lot. You can hike out for an hour or so and then hike back for great exercise and you get a breeze most of the time. Bring insect repellent in the summer time. Winter is great for hiking here.
