Sussex Squire Wines is a small Clare Valley producer with a 5 star Halliday Winery Rating. We only sell through cellar door and have no retail distribution as we focus mainly on small production of Dry Grown RED WINES with our selection of one white and 10 reds. The line up of wines include the tasting of our premium award winning Shiraz from our Dry Grown vineyard that we manage with organic principles under vine. I produce other single vineyard wines from other varieties that showcase the Clare Valley including Malbec, Mataro, Sangiovese, Grenache & Riesling. Visit our cellar door to taste our selection of wines while chatting to the winemaker and owners Mark and Skye with Milo the Jack Russell winery dog. There is a $10pp tasting fee, fully redeemable on purchase. Please CALL ahead if your group is FOUR or more to book a spot. Due to Covid -19 restrictions we CAN NOT cater for single groups over 10 people in cellar door.
This husband and wife team (Mark & Skye), are united in delivering a quality tourism experience with the most exquisite wines (but don’t take my word for it, James Halliday has gold-starred a number of their wines.) We felt very welcomed here and enjoyed the time given to tell us their story and learn of their small batch wines. A production of love produces wines I will be proud as a South Australian to share with my wino friends interstate.

Pierre at the winery was very knowlegable about the wines and extremely passionate about sharing his knowledge of other local wineries and places to eat. The wines were very nice indeed. The tasting flight also comes with tasty canipes. A definate must stop place.

Established by the Jesuits in 1851, Sevenhill Cellars is the oldest winery in South Australia's Clare Valley and the only Jesuit-owned winery in Australia. Originally established to produce altar wine, Sevenhill is now recognised for its premium table wines, which express the Clare Valley's distinctive varietal characteristics. The historic winery and cellar door, St Aloysius' Church, the College building, surrounding vineyards and spiritual sites give visitors an opportunity to combine appreciation of exceptional wines with an understanding of Sevenhill's religious and historic significance. You can discover this rich heritage by following our walking trail using a self-guided map, which are available at Cellar Door.
Really enjoyed the Sevenhill wine and hospitality! Beautiful grounds and an interesting history to be found at this winery, which is also a stop along the Reisling Trail.

Walked to Jim Barry Winery from our lovely accommodation, The Mill Apartments ???? Fabulous wine tasting, thank you Bec for your great service and knowledge. It was lovely and relaxing experience tasting great wines over some cheese & biscuits. We even had the pleasure of meeting Peter Barry!

Rocked in here at the end of a hot day riding the Riesling Trail wine tasting. Had never heard of this winery prior to visiting. The tasting room was perfectly airconditioned and the bloke who served us there was awesome. Wines were very nice. Highly recommend dropping in here if in the region.

One of the stalwarts of the Clare Valley, established by Jane and Andrew Mitchell in 1975, producing long-lived rieslings and cabernet sauvignons in classic regional style. The range now includes very creditable semillon, grenache and shiraz. A lovely old stone apple shed is the cellar door and upper section of the upgraded winery. Children Angus and Edwina are now working in the business, heralding generational changes. Over the years the Mitchells have established or acquired 75ha of vineyards on four excellent sites, some vines over 60 years old; all are managed organically, with biodynamic composts used for over a decade. Exports to the UK, the US, Canada, Denmark, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China and NZ.
Beautiful outdoor seated area, great wine selection, loved the dessert wine . Friendly staff that were welcoming . A must visit when in Clare!

Claymore Wines is a boutique Clare Valley producer of premium wines with unique labelling inspired by the music that we love. The Cellar Door is open 7 days a week; 11am-5pm Monday to Saturday and 11am - 4pm Sundays and Public Holidays. We take our winemaking seriously however with labels such as Joshua Tree Riesling, You'll Never Walk Alone GMS, Dark Side of the Moon Shiraz - we know how to have a rockin' good time! Come and experience our wines, share a cheese platter in the Cellar Door and have some fun with us!
We love the Clare Valley and are also Liverpool supporters so we stopped in at Claymore WInes for wine tasting and platter day and it was superb! Carolyn was working the cellar door and although she had other people stop in for tasting, our service did not falter. She seated us at a table and brought the tastings to us, we got to taste everything they offer and were given paper and pen for notes. Plus crackers to help with tastings. She could tell us all about the wines and the grapes, the age of the vines etc. She then brought out a gorgeous platter that was more than enough for the three of us. We had a really nice day that we talked about all the way home to Adelaide. Plus left with a case of wine :) Highly recommend
