Chongqing ([ʈʂʰʊ̌ŋ.tɕʰîŋ] ( listen)), formerly romanized as Chungking, is a major city in southwest China. Administratively, it is one of China's four direct-controlled municipalities (the other three are Beijing, Shanghai and Tianjin), and the only such municipality in China located far away from the coast.

Did a one-day trip to Heishan from Chongqing. Got on a van at Nanping bus station in the morning but I think the business station is about to be closed down and move to Chongqing Sigongli bus station instead. I arrived at Wansheng and caught a bus #113 in the bus station to get to the South Gate. At the ticket office, you have an option to pay for entrance ticket, cable car, sightseeing car (which save ~6km walk), and bus ticket back to the south gate or to the visitor center in the north gate. It took me around 2-3 hours inside the valley. The view is superb! You can also enjoy walking on the floating bridge between two cliffs. After that I got off at the north gate and catch a bus #106 back to the bus station in Wansheng (the bus runs until 6:40pm) and arrived safely at Chongqing Sigongli bus station. You can finish this place within one day from Chongqing.

This area is actually beautiful in its own way. You have the museum on the one side and the Assembly hall on the other side and all the while you are surrounded by wonderful people trying to relax and soak up some culture which you do not see often in China.
