Chonburi (Thai: ชลบุรี, RTGS: Chon Buri, [tɕ͡ʰōn bū.rīː] ( listen)) is an eastern province (changwat) of Thailand. Neighboring provinces are (from north clockwise) Chachoengsao, Chanthaburi, and Rayong. To the west is the Gulf of Thailand. Chonburi is home to Thailand's largest tourist oriented city, Pattaya (also spelled Phatthaya), it is the only province outside the Bangkok Metropolitan Area to connect by an eight-lane motorway to Bangkok, 80 km distant. It is home to Thailand's largest and primary seaport, it has a thriving migrant and expatriate population. Due to these factors, the province's population is growing rapidly, with currently some 1.7 million residents (albeit with a large floating or unregistered population). The registered population as of 31 December 2012 was 1.36 million.

A half-day package to the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary offers visitors an enjoyable opportunity to spend quality time observing elephants in their natural home, as well as gain an insight into their history and behavior, and create cherished lifelong memories of their time spent while observing these amazing animals.
Inclusions: Lunch, Coffee and/or Tea, Snacks
Exclusions:
Almost 3 hrs stick with elephants, activities started with a brief lecture on general informations (physical, personality and trait, habitat) about elephants, followed by feeding elephants with tons of banana and pineapple, making vitamin for elephants (and of course, feed them), before taking them to a mud puddle and playing mud with them, then given them a bath (and brush) in a pond (your garments will surely soak with water and mud, so dress appropriately). After that, taking a bath, changing clothes, having a meal and finally ended the program by learn to make paper from elephant poop. It should be noted that this place provides ecotourism, thus there is no elephant riding or performing. I had a great time with elephants here. Having a close contact with them, hug them, feed them at their mouths (yes, not at their trunks), play with them, brush them. Luckily, the weather in that day was not so hot and there were only 3 attendances in our round. Therefore, 1 elephant per attendance ! Every elephants here live in open surroundings. All of them looked happy, especially for the younger one which was very active and cheerful (he lay down and pretended to be dead, soo...o cute, also he splashed water to us). Staffs were very nice, especially for our guide (Mr Tono) who had a good sense of humour and entertained us with some interesting facts. This is the ultimate elephant experience in my life which worth every minutes and every baht spent. Highly recommend for animals lovers. Don't miss this! Visited at 10 december 2020

May met us at our hotel which was quite out of the way. She took us to all the significant sites and provided a very good commentary. Her English was excellent. We rode the ferry to the flower market, and a Tuk tuk to the Grand Palace. We were supposed to have a 8 hour tour but because we were jet lagged we cut it short.

Its unfortunate that the temples were in ruins and some vandalized. This was still a very good tour. The architecture is amazing to see even in its destruction. The only problem was our guide. He didn't seem to be very knowledgeable or willing to walk thru with us through the tour. At one point he suggested listening to another tour guide. I would say take the tour, but make sure you have a Tour Guide who is hydrated, willing to walk around and knows the history.

Overall this is a very good way to see more of Thailand and enjoy the culture. The activities were well timed and the lunch was great. Guides were knowledgeable. James Bond island is somewhat overrated and it gets crowded at times. I found the visit to Koh Panyee quite fascinating
