"Ishiya House" with a large Japanese-style house with a large Japanese-style house with over 40 homes, 7 houses and a beautiful Japanese garden. The Ishitani family moved from Tottori Castle to Chizu in the early years of the Genroku Period (1688-1704), and was an old house that flourished here. During the Edo period, he served as a large-scale restaurant and owned a landowner and a post shop wholesaler, and in the Meiji era he worked as a large forestry business owner and a politician who participated in government affairs.
This old residence was owned by the same family for generations. The bedrooms and tea rooms are kept traditionally but with information for visitors. The gardens are impeccably kept by a third-generation gardener. Every room is beautiful. The garden is old enough to have been visited by samurai, and old wood carvings have been preserved for generations. It is a must-visit location.

Chizu is full of rural, mountain views and locations Beautiful streams and forests are everywhere you go, and the restaurants and locations are very friendly to outsiders visiting. It is a good idea to bring or secure personal transportation, as public transit may be difficult to find. Our experience was totally enjoyable, and on more than one occasion people went out of their way to be inviting and personable when we stopped in.

This station was very pink and cutesy! It was a fun little stop on our trip to Chizu. Great stop for instagram and photo ops!
