Chipping Campden is a small market town in the Cotswold district of Gloucestershire, England. It is notable for its elegant terraced High Street, dating from the 14th century to the 17th century. ("Chipping" is from Old English cēping, "a market, a market-place"; the same element is found in other towns such as Chipping Norton, Chipping Sodbury and Chipping (now High) Wycombe.)

Fantastic bookshop! Spent quite a bit of time looking through all of the interesting books and left with some great finds. Highly recommend spending an afternoon browsing the selection.

We were advised by the Tourist Information Centre to visit here. How right they were! What an amazing experience walking into a time warp. The Hart family have been working here since very early in the c.20th when they uprooted from London and came here with the Arts & Crafts movement. Talking with these amazing artisans whilst they beat and file the silver to shape using tools that are well over 100 years old is simply awe inspiring. They are so proud of their roots - rightly so! The finished products are beautiful works of art.

The gallery at the guild is a co-operative of 28 Cotswold artists, sculptors, ceramicists, photographers, woodturners, metalworkers, glass makers, textile artists and cabinet makers whose exhibitions of work change every six weeks. The gallery is stewarded by its members and volunteers and is open daily. The gallery is on the ground floor of The Old Silk Mill in Chipping Campden which was once the home of C R Ashbee's Guild of Handicraft. Todays it is still home to Hart's Gold and Silversmiths as well as Caroline Richardson Jewellery and Campden Coffee Company.
My husband and I were both really taken by the quality of workmanship and the great appeal and variety of the pieces on display. We surprised ourselves by buying two significant items when buying one was rare for us. We will certainly return when we are again in the area as the items on display are changed frequently.

We were in CC for a week, and dropped by the CC Visitor Information Center to find that it was chock-full of excellent ideas for local walks, and carried detailed maps. The ladies who were on that day were warm and friendly, and told us about the RAF concert that would be on at the church on Friday night. We bought tickets and had the most wonderful evening listening to The Blockley Blokes Male Voice Choir and The Shipston Town Band. Excellent musicians all round! Thank you to Chipping Campden for having such an extensive collection of information for your visitors!
