If your travels include the city of Tianjin, and you only have 1-day, this flexible tour was worth it! My excellent tour guide Echo spent the day showing and explaining to me the various historical and cultural sites of Tianjin. The many highlights comprised of a view from the top of the TV Tower, visiting the Yangliu Qing Painting Museum and making a DIY print to take home, seeing and briefly exploring the Five Great Avenues, lunching at a local restaurant, admiring the porcelain house and visiting the home of the last Emperor Puyi. Echo and our driver were on time, Echo was very personable and the excursion made my last day in Tianjin very productive, educational and enjoyable!

It is one thing to view the Bund from either side looking over to the other. It exceeds your expectations to see it from the middle of the river. Alana was an outstanding host from start to finish. She checked in during the entire process making sure we had what we needed and even thought of extra ways to make this celebration better. The Champaign was Moet and the View was priceless. I had the opportunity to experience multiple tours with Lost Plate, Chengdu, Xi'an, Shanghai (breakfast and evening). Each and every tour was unique and enjoyable. In the year of 2020, living as an ex-pat in China and visiting different cities, Lost Plate can feel like a local taking you around and giving you plenty of advice along the way. Even in the city you might live in, it is worth the visit to unearth some local finds you may not have known about. The guides all speak English well and are helpful, friendly, and excited to show you their city. This trip was an absolute highlight of my time in China. As a non-Chinese speaker, with a limited time to spend in Shaanxi and a strong love of food, it took away the uncertainty and difficulty that often comes with finding the best things to eat and to do off of the well-trod tourist path. The itinerary was a perfect balance of eating, sight-seeing and socialising, covering all of the best-known sights while also veering off into territory no non-local could find. Thanks to Cassie and Jenny’s China Tours, I recently enjoyed a live virtual tour of the Leshan Buddha, one of the oldest Buddha statues in the world. Cassie made the experience come alive, and is an absolutely incredible tour guide. She is so kind, welcoming and knowledgeable! I felt like I was there in person. Cassie provided an excellent historical background (including the Buddha’s construction), and bravely climbed the steps to the top. She made the experience personal, pausing as she climbed the steps, giving me the opportunity to marvel at the Leshan Buddha from different perspectives, and answering all of my questions. I also enjoyed the pavilion and exquisite Buddhist temple behind the Leshan Buddha (including breathtaking Buddha statues). What an exceptional experience! I can’t wait to tour with Cassie and Jenny’s China Tours again.
