I came here last spring hoping to purchase a Chimayo vest, somewhat of a family tradition here in Northern New Mexico. I came to this shop because of it being open when others were not and I'm glad I did! Mr. Irvin Trujillo showed us his beautiful artwork which is on display throughout the store, measured me, and helped to make sure the design was just what I wanted. My custom vest was completed quickly, was quite affordable, and I couldn't be happier! Thank you Mr. Trujillo!

I bought a beautiful woven purse directly from the weaver and some pretty earrings. This store is affordable and interesting-the weavers weave right there with their big looms!

Ortega's Weaving Shop

Reviewed By SusiefromCrucible

On a day out of Santa Fe we went through Chimayo to seek out the weaving shops there. Ortega's is a real gem, service very friendly and patient and a huge selection of rugs, blankets, and all sorts of accessories. Prices are fair, better than in ABQ or SF we thought. We bought a beautiful rug, had it shipped to our home in MD and a week later are enjoying it! Even IF you don't want to purchase anything this is a great stop!
