MIrador Las Torres

Reviewed By darkbluesparkles - Oxford, United Kingdom

We did this hike with our 11-month-old baby in a hiking backpack. I would say this hike pushed us right up to our very limits and I wouldn't want to do anything tougher than this. That said, I would do the hike again if it was our first time. There were a lot of people on the trail when we went, and we were never alone. It is imperative to wear STURDY WATERPROOF shoes that go over your ankles, as you will be hiking IN a stream (not along, I do mean IN the flowing water) for about 15% of the total distance. The last scramble was not as bad as I'd anticipated, but obviously very tiring. The most dangerous part, in my opinion, is the first part of the descent over the rocks - GO SLOWLY. It took us 9 hours round-trip, including lunch, photos at the viewpoint, and two nappy changes (once at the camp right before the final ascent, and once at Refugio Chileno on the way down). The view at the top was amazing and there's lots of space to sit for lunch. It wasn't that windy, though there were a few snowflakes on the way up. For those with babies going up, you can use the bathrooms for free for nappy changes, just ask the staff (who speak English). We opted to do it on a picnic table outside for space reasons, and it wasn't that cold.

Cerro San Cristobal

This 860 meter hill in the center of Santiago features a zoo and wine museum at the midway point and a gondola ride to the top, where a Virgin Mary statue overlooks the city.

Reviewed By GoGo2SlowGo - Denton, United States

It has several attractions in its 1784 acres. Central Park is only 842 acres by comparison. Some of its most important attractions are: the sanctuary and balcony of the Virgin of the Immaculate Conception; The National Zoo of Chile, where you can get dazzled with the different species of animals; the historic funicular railway and the recently inaugurated cable way. From the top of the park you can enjoy a panoramic view of Santiago and the Andes Mountain Range, also there are two swimming pools, plazas and games for children.

Full of artists which are eager to tell you about their art... There is a painter Cuellis something that paints creatures from the dark and he -together with soo many of them- has contributed to the street art of Valparaiso, I could not believe how beautiful the walls there! Paseo Yugoslavo is just magical!

Sky Costanera

Experience Santiago highest viewing platform at the top of the tallest building in Latin America. SkyCostanera is the start point to know Santiago. SkyCostanera offers an exceptional experience, a panoramic view of the city in 360° at 300 meters high

Reviewed By catchmeifyucan

This is one of the best views of Santiago you can get. Sky Costanera is the tallest building in Latin America and has a great vantage view of the Andes Mountains, local parks and skyscrapers. Both of the top 2 floors has windows, w the highest floor having open roof deck. I went on a Thursday at 6pm and it was not crowded at all. Very tranquil and relaxing. In fact, out of all the talk skyscraper buildings I’ve been to (Top of the Rock, CN Tower, Space Needle, Eiffel Tower, etc) this good as one of my favorite ones. Reviews say to go at sunset, bc I came in the summer, it closes during sunset (9pm) but if you get a chance to I’m sure it’s beautiful and well worth.
