This pool sits in the middle of Chico, CA.... near Chico State University. Great place to have a picnic, relax and swim. You can spend the day there or not. The water comes from the mountains and at first it's cold, but once you relax it's comfortable. This body of water travels through the town out to the Sacramento River. Get there early as parking is hard inside the park. If no parking you may have to drive around until you find a spot. You can drive up to Upper falls and hike into one of many "pool" spots. Weekdays are a good time, less crowded. Weekends the park is crowded. Sorry your dog is not allowed in the main pool area, but there are spots hiking up following the stream that your dog can enjoy himself. Near the pool area is a food stand and bathrooms are also located there. Check pool hours on their website. Dogs must be kept on leash at all times. Pool officially opens Memorial Day with lifeguards on duty.
