We wanted to see celadon being made as well as have the chance to buy a few souvenirs so made the trip to Chiang Mai Celadon in DoiSaket. On arrival we were invited to watch a short video before looking around the workshop where you saw the various processes in operation. There was also a stunning showroom of beautiful pieces, suitable for all budgets, but really nice quality. All the buildings are grouped in a lovely green compound which makes it a particularly nice place to visit and there are several traditional wooden buildings full of beautiful pieces which you can look around. Also, the lady owner was particularly welcoming.

Wat Pa Daraphirom Temple is a must-visit if you go to Mae Rim, Chiang mai. The temple is exceptionally beautiful with impressive historical background. Each building in the temple is unique and distinctive. The temple is not as crowded as temples in Chiang Mai city. It is mostly quiet and serene. So, you can appreciate its artistic style and beauty peacefully. So, next time you go to Mae Rim, don't miss Wat Pa Daraphirom Temple.

A remarkable 15th century Wat, built as a smaller replica of the Bodh Gaya temple in Bihar, India. The architects hadn’t seen the original, but copied another replica in Bagan, Myanmar. So, having been to Bodh Gaya, I have to say it’s not quite right, but charming nonetheless. There was a Buddhist Congress here (the sixth? There have only been about a dozen in over 2,500 years). Surprisingly well preserved stucco work. Easily accessible from the ring road.

Phra Maha Dhatu Naphamethinidon and Naphaphonphumisiri Pagodas are a beautiful tribute (for their 60th birthdays) to the late beloved King and his Queen ... built by the Thai Air Force over 900 days they are a lasting testament to the love of the Thai people to their King and Queen ... each of the two Pagodas is accessed by a covered escalator going up the hill and with steps to walk down ... the detail of the Pagodas is amazing including the bas reliefs inside the Pagodas and on the surrounding walls ... the gardens are beautiful and well maintained ... there are so many great photo opportunities including the great view of the surroundings valleys and mountains ... ฿300 entrance to Doi Inthanon National Park and ฿40 entrance to Phra Maha Dhatu Naphamethinidon and Naphaphonphumisiri Pagodas ... the view is limited during high smoke conditions

Doi Chiang Dao is the only true mountain range in Thailand. Even if it is "only" the 3rd highest one, it is the only one that have real peaks and cliffs. The 2 highest points in Thailand (Doi Inthanon and Doi Phahompok) are only big hills. There are roads going to the top. This is not the case with Doi Chiang Dao, it's true mountain there. It explains why it's difficult to go there and why it's less busy. This is the reason as well why it used to be the favorite place of real trekking lovers. Unfortunately these last years it has been more and more complicated to explore the moutains there. The National Park has limited the entry to 4 months in the year then has closed the entry to the summit. It is now impossible to go to the highest point and inside the wildlife sanctuary. It's a shame because it's a stunning area. Hopefully there are other trails around that few people and only one agency knows. I recommend to go there with them if you really want to discover Chiang Dao.

A great hike along the lower part of Doi Suthep. This place is well preserved, and although more and more people are starting to come up this path, it has still maintained its quiet atmosphere and serenity. It has a waterfall with a great overlook of Chiangmai (a lower and more closeup angle compared to the one by the highway road, and the back of Doi Suthep Temple). There is now a small coffee shop by the main road path, which is staffed by the monks.
