Much of the old town district of Chania was developed around its harbor, which was built by the Venetians during the 14th century. Its lighthouse still proudly overlooks the Mediterranean. Here you’ll find several cinemas and historical attractions like the Archaeological Museum, a collection of Minoan and Roman artifacts that’s housed in the former Monastery of Saint Francis. Word nerds will especially enjoy the Museum of Typography.

Come with us and discover the West of Crete! This excursion brings us to West Crete and our first stop in Chania, the most ravishing city of Crete. It was an important Minoan city and the “mother of the Cretan cities”, according to ancient writers. The city is divided in the Old City, with the gorgeous harbor and the New City, beyond its Venetian fortifications. The Old City is one of the most beautiful cities in the Mediterranean and is called “Venice of the East”. We can admire samples of all the civilizations that have passed from here: archaeological Minoan sites, Turkish minarets and mosques, Muslim neighborhoods, Venetian fortresses, dockyards, fountains, squares, arches, mansions, Loggia and the Lighthouse. We can enjoy our lunch at the picturesque harbor or visit the famous Agora (Market), which houses traditional little shops and taverns. Here we can buy souvenirs or leather goods in very good prices.
Inclusions: Professional and Multilingual speaking guide., Transfers with air-conditioned luxurious buses., Free pick up service from any place in Crete.

Don't even hesitate, book any of these tours now! My boyfriend and I did two tours through Chania wine tours and they were the highlight of our trip. Honest probably one of the best tours I've been on. The food and the wine were amazing plus Anna Maria and Vasilis were so hospitable. I seriously cannot recommend them enough!!

Chania’s Old Town is being inhabited since the ancient ages of the Minoan Civilization from 5000BC. Since then it has always been a vivid place of prosperity and growth, influenced through the ages by the various cultures, Romans, Arabs, Jews, due to its geopolitical place in the Mediterranean Sea and those who invaded it particularly in the late years, such us the Venetians and the Ottoman Turks. We will stroll through the historic alleys and pinpoint the Byzantine and the Venetian/Ottoman Walls and Fortifications, then walk through the main streets and see the emergence of history from the Ancient Ages from the archeological excavations inside the Old Town to the Medieval and Recent Ages through the old buildings, the churches, the synagogues and the mosques. Also we will visit the Orthodox, the Muslim and the Jewish Quarter and how people lived together through times with peace or turbulence.

The Samaria Gorge houses rare fauna and flora and has therefore been proclaimed a national park for its preservation. The gorge of Samaria is the longest in Europe at 18km long. Its width ranges from between 150m to 3m at its narrowest point. Six hours should see you through in comfort and leave you time to take photos along the way -as you will certainly want to do. There are no particular difficulties as it gradually makes its way down toward sea level and there are also signals and signs to show you the way. Be sure to wear strong and comfortable footwear. NO SANDALS!
Inclusions: Air-conditioned vehicle, All Fees and Taxes, Local Tour guide is included
Exclusions: Breakfast, Entrance 5 euro per person and boat 10 euro per person
Elafonissi beach is one of the nicest beaches in Crete, that i would recommend anyone who comes here to go to. It was a lovely drive on the way there too, lot of green mountains covered with olive trees and breath taking canons as we were driving down from them to see ..we stopped in a small village for a breakfast, and have to say they had a really nice selection of Greek home made pies, as we should eat the local cuisine. We had a lovely guide Elena who told us a lot of historical information about Crete on the bus, also told us to go and visit a small cave that is just about the breakfast restaurant - for sure go and see it! She was a good point of contact as she went with us all the way to Elafonissi and made sure we all got on the bus after we had our few hours in paradise. Time went so fast, wish we would stay there longer. On the way back we again stopped in a different village for a quick dinner, all well organized as we had under one hour, and i had some lamb with chestnuts and potatoes and of course Tzatziki! Remaining drive home i slept away in the bus, full and happy. The bus driver was amazing taking us through all those narrow roads one hill at the time, but you feel safe in the hands of experienced people so thank you to both, him and our guide Elena.

By far one of the most beautiful beaches on the island, Elafonissi is situated on the south west coast. A tropical effect is created by its white and pink coral sands. Head to the right for shallow water in a small enclosed lagoon ideal for the children. A walk through the lagoon to the islet is most worthwhile as you will discover this unique coastline.
Inclusions: Transportation with A/C bus, Local tour leader
Exclusions: Food and drinks
It is the 2nd time i have decided to walk Samaria Gorge, the last time it was 10 years ago. I knew what i was getting myself into - just my poor friend, who i dragged along, didn't.. :) Loved it the first time, loved it the second times..so let me give you some tips from this trip. I chose this travel company and was happy to do so as they picked us up on time, lovely guide Elena was waiting for us already when we arrived. Once they collected everyone it was time to head off in the beautiful White mountains. We got a lot of useful and interesting information in the bus from Elena and we headed for our first stop for a breakfast. Here i have to say i was greatly disappointed at the selection of dry, tasteless toasts and baguettes with one slice of ham and cheese, better to buy your own breakfast in advance. Would greatly recommend to change a restaurant! But we were stocked up on food - you are going to walk 4-6 hours, so empty bottle for water and some snacks is a must. We took this time walking sticks with us that were helpful as you are walking most of the time on rocks, take at least trainers and a hat with you. You will get a time plan from your guide so to be out of the gorge just in time for a boat, as if you miss it you will stay there the night. I attached a photo of our guide Elena too who was making sure we all made it out and was kind enough to take one with me. We took a tons of photos, had a great time, met a goat in Samaria village who eat our apple leftovers, slipped one time on a straight floor - guess i am just clumsy..all in all made it out and took the bus for 2 EU to the village. There i just headed for the sea to was away the sweat and relax. It was also very nice to change my trainers for the flip flops i took with me. We eat some thing in the local restaurant and boarded the boat, on time.. :) After the nice and peaceful boat drive, everyone was tired, we boarded the bus again and headed our way home. The road back is like a roller coaster but as there is no other way the experienced driver went one mountain road up and then down..as we were in good hands, nothing to worry about.
