Shall explaind all spices, rules and gave us opportunity to be real part of meal preparation- Finally all was so delicious that our stomaches almost exploded. At the end there was option to buy some spices, teas etc but without pressure that we have to buy something... Recommended place!

Golden Temple of Dambulla

Reviewed By PennyScudamore

Best done with a guide to tell you all about the history and explain what you are seeing. All-in-all very impressive. Practical notes: it is a long climb up many stone steps to get there, so take plenty of water and wear good shoes. For the temples, ladies must cover their shoulders and legs, and everyone must take off their shoes - take a pair of socks with you if not already wearing them, as some of the pavings are outdoors and red hot!

The tour of the Horton Plains and the trek to World’s End was an absolute pleasure as it allowed us a sneak peek to the wonders of the diverse wilderness available in Sri Lanka and to various natural marvels that Sri Lanka has to offer. It is also the home to a large number of endemic birds and wildlife and is indeed a must do when one is visiting the beautiful Nuwaraeliya in Sri Lanka. The splendid tour and the experience of visiting the Horton Plains and the trek to the World’s End was guided by the very experienced and capable Naturalist Hashan attached to the Grand Hotel Nuwaraeliya and, Harshana who indeed drove us safely to and from the Horton Plains. I would definitely recommend them to all thinking of visiting Nuwaraeliya.

This is a must-visit place around Dambulla for nature lovers. Many different animals inside a relatively small space. However, the yellow route we took, took around 1hour to walk. There are many places around to snap a nice photo. The caretaker is very informative. You can give a donation of your choice to help maintain the place
